I ordered the brisket with baked beans and collard greens, and my husband got the Brunswick stew. Neither of us was particularly impressed with the flavor.
The restaurant itself has a lot of charm, but based on the food we had, it’s probably not somewhere we’d go back.
Super helpful, good prices and GREAT bbq.
Ive had tons of wonderful bbq and very particular about the bbq I eat and what I find fit as “ good bbq”. This place hit all the marks. The smoked turkey was very tender, zero dryness, juicy and a great deep smoke flavor.
The special they had going on at the time was “Tater Tuesday” which was a HUGE loaded baked potato with pulled pork. Smoke rings were visible on the pork. Bacon was Smokey and added a great touch to the potato and wasn’t over powering. Amazing experience.
The service is great, and the sauces are still excellent. My smoked wings were very good, and the chicken tenders the kids agreed were pretty good, however, my wife’s brisket sandwich was not great. The meat looked very pink and shiny, and was super grisly. While I understand this is down to the specific cut and the animal it came from, but it was just an unpleasant eating experience. The fries are pretty much on point.
Stopped in to just try the Brunswick stew, but couldn’t resist getting a couple of ribs to try.
The stew was pretty much on point with others, however I added a little of the vinegar sauce and some sweet and it kicked it up.
The ribs were cooked perfectly and even though I only had two, I tried them plain, with the vinegar sauce and the sweet. It didn’t make any difference, because the ribs themselves were just that good.
I’m sure others taste buds are going to differ, but if you’re looking for a taste of southern BBQ, this is a good spot.
It’s a little hidden from the main road, but if you get close, roll down the window and follow the BBQ smell.
