It was out first time here, and I won’t be our last. The portions are huge and definitely a shareable experience. Christian was great! Host, waiter and bartender…trifecta. Shrimp & Pork Dumplings, potatoes, OG noodles, hot & spicy chicken: all outstanding and plenty of leftovers! We can’t wait to try Pho King on a Wednesday.

For someone who loves this type of food, I felt like a bit of a mixed bag. Terrific environment; the style is very cool and the price points are approachable. The Pho cocktail is worth returning for but the perogi pork dumplings sort of fell flat. The fried chicken thighs had a very savory and salty coating. The main garlic noodles were very tasty but almost too heavy and to me, too derivative, although very inventive. Honestly my favorite was the hot, tasty, and fresh vegetable lo mein. Awesome waiter Conor!

Incredible food experience! We ordered the avocado fries, garlic KFC wings, burger, and garlic noodles, and every single dish exceeded expectations. The flavors just kept getting better with each course. One of the best meals we’ve had – highly recommend!

My friends who owns the infamous Carolima’s (well experienced taste buds)visited this place about two weeks ago and it was amazing. When they first approached me to try I had serious reservations, but stepped out of my comfort zone. Boi I am glad I did. I had the OG garlic noodles and it was made with perfection. Every pig that was pulled, onion that was sliced and noodle that was strung and hung was so worth it. I will be returning with my family so they may relish in the delight. Love this place, service and atmosphere.

My fiance and I decided to dine in for Valentine’s Day lunch service. Upon arrival we were shocked to see there was a single host who was handling seating customers, taking orders, making drinks, answering the phone, running food and cleaning tables. It was obvious he was quite overwhelmed and flustered by the amount of guests to be handled, however the flustered behavior went far beyond normal brushing off and brings concern for being under the influence of something. Now once seated it did take some time to receive service and unfortunately every question asked was met with the blankest most dead stare I’ve seen and utter confusion. We noticed multiple tables around us receiving the wrong food and having it bet set on their table for all of 3 seconds before being run back to the kitchen by the host. At one point a table received the completely wrong food and the host was flabbergasted by his own mistake seeming to not understand he was the one who brought them the wrong plates and couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t accept them. Once we received our food it was, downright delectable. The food alone is selling this establishment. My fiance asked the host for hot sauce once we received our plates and as quickly as he turned away from the table, the hot sauce was forgotten and never brought over and I would’ve asked again but this was the last time our table was touched. Once we finished devouring our food, we were left at the table waiting for our check for probably 20 minutes before going up to the front to ask for the check directly. If we hadn’t of asked for it, I’m sure the host would’ve let us leave without paying because as we made our way to the front he simply just commented my finances jacket, completely unaware that we were in need of our check to leave. I highly recommend the higher ups do some heavy training of the lunch staff because this is something people wouldn’t be returning for.

Very much enjoyed our experience at Pink Bellies! The garlic kfc wings were outstanding, as well as the hot and spicy chicken noodles. My wife loved the avacado fries and veggie dumplings, and you can’t go wrong with the OG garlic noodles. The yuzu mocktail and the limeade were great accompaniments to the meal as well! We can’t wait to come back to try the pho burger and the general gerrys chicken. The host, server and bartender were all very kind, helpful and attentive to our needs. A note regarding parking, the gravel lot directly next to the restaurant is for student housing only–so make sure to find street parking nearby or head a block down the street to the Midtown Garage ($3/hr).

I visited this spot with a friend after an event downtown, and though it’s not a big place, it instantly felt like home.

The food was delicious and came out super fast. The service was unique and fun, adding to the cozy atmosphere.

I’d love to return soon because I really enjoyed the food and the whole experience!

I have been going back and forth on a rating. I really want to give them a higher rating the place is adorable and everyone there was so extremely nice. Maybe if we ate there it would have been different. So the burgers one tasted amazing the other was burnt tasted like ash the other burger had such amazing flavor, but for almost $20 a burger it wouldn’t kill you all to add fries. The generals chicken was very very good. The hot and spicy noodles were also so good but just way too much chili oil like way over the top. The wings i think may have been better if we had them in the restaurant. Might try Pink Bellies again i really wanted to absolutely love this place.

Went in for dinner around 6pm with high expectations. Restaurant was clean and well decorated. Food was interesting with Vietnamese dishes that had other influences mixed into it to create new flavor profile or other dishes with Vietnamese flavors thrown in to mix it up. Some a hit some a miss.

The good:
Yuzu mocktail was refreshing and tasty. Garlic KFC chicken wings were delicious, crispy, and had a great fusion of flavor. Homemade blue cheese sauce was a nice touch. The Pho Cocktail was very surprising and best of the play on Vietnamese flavors presented in a new and unexpected way.

The not so good:
The Cha Gio Ssam was pretty legit and dipping sauce was spot on. Where this fell down was that about 1/4 of the lettuce had black wilted rot and had to separate out. Not pleasant at all.

The General Gerry Chicken was fried beautifully and has that seemingly forever crispy element to it. The sauce was on the salty side and flavor wise wasn’t by design. The rice was surprising. It seemed like the rice similar to Hainanese Chicken Rice but lacking the flavor and aroma.

The OG Garlic Noodles were good but just good. It had a lot of elements there that were done right and seemingly a lot going on but the flavor was surprisingly one note and somewhat muted. The presentation was the most memorable thing about it.

The low review was for the service. We got there early and even though we didn’t have a reservation, we were still seated but it seemed like they were doing us a favor the entire time. All of the food came out at one time and nothing was coursed so it was a little packed and as we finished a dish we stacked the plates. They weren’t picked up until we were asking for some boxes.

Boxes were brought out and a check immediately dropped without us asking which was a little surprising since we weren’t offered dessert and the cheesecake looked really appetizing.

I asked for a side of rice to go when asking for the boxes. We sat for another 10 minutes or so after we had paid waiting for the rice and a bag and came out a while later. Mind you, I understood there was a charge for the rice and that is totally fine but not sure why it took so long.

There was little interaction with the staff compared to how they treated other guests. Maybe they had reservation. I don’t know. Overall we spent a little over a hundred dollars for two people, felt rushed, and left there feeling kinda empty.

It’s worth checking out but I probably won’t be going back.
