Pier 98 Steaks, Seafood & Catering, in my opinion, has some of the best steaks in town! My wife and I love eating here for a number of reasons. The staff is friendly, the owner is a great guy, the food is delicious, and it’s literally less than a 2 mile drive for us. They’re smack in the middle of Oak Grove, just on the outskirts of Hattiesburg, MS. If you haven’t tried their food, we highly suggest them! We’ve tried a bit of everything and it’s all amazing!

Absolutely incredible! The seafood was fresh, seasoned wonderfully and lots of great options to choose from. The service was also great with several staff members stopping by our table making sure all was well from drink refills, napkins or offering to remove empty plates. Simply a great experience. Be sure not to miss out on the bread pudding served warm and a generous helping….it’s to die for. First time here and we’ll be back!

Always skeptical of a new place, I read reviews; which left me more skeptical. We decided to meet our friends there anyway, nothing ventured nothing gained. Once inside the doors, the atmosphere was pleasant. From the groupings of people, it gave the vibe of of the kind of place friends could relax and enjoy time together over a meal. By some standards, items were a bit pricey, but when you consider that the items are freshly prepared and not bulk-ordered through a chain, and the recipes were more unique than eating off a mass produced menu, then it became quite a treat. There was also a “steak special” offered that was very well priced, although it lacked in originality. Portions-generous, food-served hot, staff-attentive, and value/price-equal. It was a great first experience and we will put this on our list of “return-to” places to dine.

We loved it!! The shrimp poboy was HUGE and the shrimp were gigantic and perfectly cooked, I ordered soft shell crab poboy, sooo good, but the star was the charbroiled oysters and fried crawfish. Must try crawfish mac n cheese!!!

We were looking for a different steak house than our usual and were so very happy to find Pier 98. Atmosphere in back was nice, comfy, quiet. Extremely attentive waitress… with a personality! Food made fresh, hand-carved steaks, nice variety of choices… food tasted fantastic! I ordered the Brussels sprouts for appetizer, 14 oz. Ribeye, collard greens, and green salad. Others in our party selected charbroiled oysters, filet mignon, and other steak cuts, as well as fried okra, fries, and dessert. We will definitely be coming back… often!! Didn’t think to take pics until we were almost finished

WOW!!! Never judge a book by its cover is so true because looking at this place from the road you probably wouldn’t stop. However, if you pass this place up for a fancy looking appearance you will miss out. Our waiter was great, he told us what was good and we followed his advice. The Brussels sprouts were absolutely amazing enough for two, the seafood platter was enough for two with filet fish, jumbo shrimp, fried oysters, fried red fish topped with a creamy sauce, stuffed crab, large boiled shrimp, corn, potatoes, crawfish Mac and cheese, and coleslaw OMG!! The steak was great with tons of fried okra and mashed potatoes with roast beef gravy. Each meal came with your choice of two sides. After our oysters and Brussel sprouts appetizer we were FULL!!! Our top restaurant in Hattiesburg!!! Pricey but worth every penny!!!

A while back I got charged twice on my card for food. The waitress acknowledged it and said that my money will be put back on my card. Fast forward 2 weeks and still no money. I called them concerning my money and they said that they didn’t double charge me after acknowledging that they did. My money just didn’t vanish out of my account by itself. They must have needed it more than I did but I will never go back there. Food was average at best.
