This was the second Vietnamese noodle restaurant I tried in Virginia Beach. The portion was generous and the taste was pretty good; I was very satisfied. I’ll definitely go back. The owner kindly reminded the chef to blanch the meat briefly to make it taste better.

I had the opportunity to grab lunch with my mom at Pho Viet 1, and it was a great experience. My first impression of the place was how spacious and inviting it looked inside. The service was excellent our waiter regularly checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed. I ordered the pork rice platter, and it was absolutely delicious. It definitely reminded me of my childhood. I appreciated how everything was served hot and fresh. The dish also came with soup and fish sauce, which you could pour over your plate to add even more flavor. Overall, I’d give it a 5 out of 5 highly recommend!

Pho Viet 1 isn’t your run-of-the-mill pho joint. We went all in on the Hu Tieu Do Bien (seafood noodle soup) and Hu Tieu Kho (dry noodle bowl), and wow — both hit the table looking as good as they tasted. Fresh shrimp, squid, beef, and crispy toppings layered over chewy noodles, with a side broth that was bright and fragrant. Every bite had that “I’d come back for this” factor.
Yes, the price tag is higher than your standard pho house, but you can taste where it went — fresh seafood, generous portions, and a broth that doesn’t cut corners. Service was friendly, waters stayed full, and the vibe inside is casual but lively — perfect for catching up with friends over a serious noodle fix.
If you’re a pho loyalist, try the Hu Tieu here. It’s a game-changer and proof that sometimes, paying a little extra is absolutely worth it.

I am a member of the Regent University Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA), and our organization hosts events on campus frequently. Everytime we’ve catered from Pho Viet, the restaurant has done an exceptional job! In the most recent event, we wanted to do a Vietnamese-Mexican fusional tacos because we were partnering with Regent University Hispanic Law Student Organization. No restaurant caters fusional tacos of that type, but I thought of Pho Viet. And Mr. Viet, the owner, was incredibly helpful! He put together a menu with me and tailor made the pickled carrots and radish to look like pico de gallo, stir fry chicken & beef in a way that resemble taco meat. In a nutshell, the tacos look like a twist on Vietnamese banh mi and Mexican tacos. The event was a huge hit, and everyone absolutely enjoyed the food! Highly recommend this restaurant!
I’ve also eaten here a few times, and their phở is by far the BEST phở I’ve eaten in the US (I have tried many phở). Their bánh mì thịt nướng and cơm bò lúc lắc are also to die for!
Update (2025): I did go back recently in 2025, and the pho quality wasn’t nearly as good anymore…not sure what happened. It used to be 9/10, but now more like a 6.5/10.

When I ate that bowl of noodles, I knew I have to leave this restaurant a 5 start reviews! I have to agree with all the top reviews, this is definitely a MUST GO restaurant!! Highly recommend the vermicelli pork, it is just so flavorful and the pork is very tender 🙂
The server served us is extremely nice and welcoming. The bathroom is clean as well. 5 star!!

The food is just okay. Although, the bread on my Vietnamese cold cuts bahn mi was a bit hard, not as fresh. Cold cuts tasted almost like bologna, not sure if it’s supposed to be ham or something. I tasted liver spread also. First time to try cold cuts bahn mi, and it’s no good for me. The vermicelli salad is good. Big serving. Clean taste. I think it’s too clean, it’s almost bland. I love it that way though. The place was very new and clean. The fish tank wasn’t cleaned though. Maybe that’s how it is supposed to be for the big fish in it. There’s also a bar and karaoke stage. I will be back, and try again because I want to like this place.

Growing up eating Vietnamese food, I always loved trying out the local restaurants serving it. This is one of the BEST restaurants we’ve been to!! The food was packed with flavor, and the portion sizes are very generous. The atmosphere was welcoming and calm, as was the music playing. The service was quick and the staff was very kind. If you’re looking for wonderful flavor and a relaxing atmosphere we highly recommend this place!

A little more expensive than other Vietnamese restaurants in Hamptons Roads, but their pho is excellent and worth the price ($18 for a large bowl). I’ve experienced great service both times I’ve been as well.

Place is clean, nice appointments with screens showing sceneries and tropical fish. There’s an area for karaoke, haven’t chanced upon it being used.
I like this place more than its old location near TJMaxx at Fairfield square, which was the last time I reviewed this restaurant.
The last time I reviewed it, a small bowl of Pho Dac Biet was less than $15. I guess it’s sign of the times but still, to think that authentic food back in Vietnam is only $2 !!!
Anyway I digressed. Service is good. The only thing is that they don’t provide you small containers for to go of sauce. They give you packets.
What I love about Pho broth is you know when bone marrow, etc has been cooked for hours to get to that rich broth, the color, the depth of taste. You get it here at Pho Viet.

Me and my wife both had the Pho Tai… Lemme tell you something. This right here, will HEAL YOU. Match it up with a Thai Tea… BOOM I swear you will not be disappointed.
On top of that, the ambiance was impeccable.
I’ve had Pho all over the US. EASILY top 3.
