I walked through the trenches of San Francisco at 9pm to the only open pho place in the area. I was greeted at the door by Phong and he sat me immediately. Phong was a very pleasant server and was so accommodating. He brought me over every garnish you could’ve imagined without me even asking. I ordered the beef combination pho and it was phenomenal! The best I’ve ever had, it truly hit the spot.

While the meat quality was a high point, the rest of the dish was unfortunately disappointing. The noodles were quite hard and felt as though they had come straight from the refrigerator, their chill dropped the soup’s temperature so quickly that it couldn’t even cook the raw meat. It’s a shame to have such good ingredients overshadowed by preparation that felt rushed.
To go only.

Just tried this new spot out and I really liked it. Had the oxtail pho and it was really good. Broth was good and oxtail was very tender. The bowl was very large and a good amount. Also had the salt and pepper chicken wings that were super tasty. Very fresh I enjoyed. Lastly I tried the imperial rolls which were not the best I’ve had but decent. They’re a little on the greasier side and the flavor is not as strong.
Overall, had a great experience. The team working there seems great and everyone was really nice.

I ordered a Pho on the app of the restaurant, just made a wrong add-on on the order. Then went to the register to cancel the order so that I can reorder the pho I want. There is a waitress named Kat/Cat (whatever her name is) and asked her to cancel the wrong order so that I can reorder. She cancelled the order, but then told me with a bad attitude to “check my order before placing it!” People can make mistakes, right? It is your responsibility to correct a mistake without an attitude!!!She must definitely learn how to treat a customer. Then she came back to check if everything is fine, told me to submerge the meat into the Pho. What the hell is that? I know how to eat Pho??? Food was good but I don’t appreciate the disrespectful attitude of her. She must be taught about manners towards a customer!!! EDIT: The owner of the restaurant read this review while I was eating, came to me and apologized sincerely for her behavior, told me that the pho is complimentary. I appreciate the professionalism and rapid response of the owner.

This location is no longer Papaya island. It’s been overtaken by a new restaurant called Pho de Nguyen . The food is delicious. Ox tail beef noodle is their signature dish. Also tried their five-spiced chicken, it was pretty good. You should give this place a try if you’re in the area to support this new business (that we desperately need in SF!)

I usually have had a pleasant experience ordering from this location. However, I ordered the build your own pho this evening with a meat and vegetables. When my Togo order arrived, it included two slices of brisket, two beefballs, a few other assorted shreds of meat. It was noticably skimpier than previous orders but it was the vegetables that really got me! Two shredded Brussels sprouts and two quarters of a cut up eggplant. Not sure what happened, but I’m disappointed and surprised.

Absolutely loved the food here. The duck was some of the best duck I’ve had. The oxtail pho and Vietnamese coffee were also delicious. Love the music and everyone had the best customer service. I felt really welcome.

My go to: bun bo hue. This place makes it without the foot. No blood either. That’s ok with me bc I don’t eat the blood anyway. I wish there’s more noodle. I couldn’t detect the shrimp paste. I think it’s a B. Now the sugar cane juice deserves an A+. I didn’t add anything offered as an option. Just straight up juice. Loved it. The big band music was fantastic. The floor in the bathroom though it’s like a game of Slip N Slide.

This place had the best best best Bun Bo Hui! The soup is so fire! They use skinny vermicelli noodles and feels like it absorbs the soup better. I ordered the Bun Bo Hui with a side of duck. The duck is roasted in house from Petaluma Farms. So delicious! Chef is kind and thoughtful. You can tell that he put a lot of love into the broth! This is the old Turtle Tower location. Parking is a bit harder but not horrible. He uses fresh good quality beef too.
