Good cheese steaks. Don’t let the appearance and neighborhood scare you off. ( But be cautious, lock car doors and don’t hangout here). The food is actually good. The man who owns it , owns several businesses around N. Charleston and understands customer service. Clarence will guarantee you a great meal and friendly service.

I use to frequent here a lot about 5 years ago and the food was good when the owner was in cooking it or at least in the kitchen. I stopped coming here about about 2 years ago when I spent around $27 on Philly cheese-steaks and some other things and the steak was burnt on both sandwiches. So I was done then; and at the time the manager wasn’t there as much anymore. So fast-forward to about 45 minutes ago. I decided to give it another go to see if there was any improvement yet. The only improvement was that they now accept credit cards. I spent around $15 on my order. I ordered the Philly Cheese-steak, cheese fries, and fried shrimp. So let’s break it down. I was told my order would take about 10 minutes which I agreed with since I was the only customer in the place when I walked up and after I left the place. It took almost 2x as long to get my order. When I got home I was disappointed to say the least. My shrimp were small in size, greasy, soft, and it was a count of at least 8 small shrimp. underneath was my cheese fries. My cheese fries were also greasy and dark which meant they didn’t change the grease or used fresh grease to fry any of my food and also soft. Finally my cheese steak looked okay but as soon I I bit into it I could tell the meat was too salty like they used seasoning salt (which I think they did because the meat had a orange tinge to it) and the best part which was the bread was stale. If not stale at least old wasn’t chewy just really, really, dry. So lesson learned I wasted my money again. I should’ve just drove down to North woods Mall and went to O’Charleys which is a little more but at least the food meets expectations every time and I leave satisfied.

We’ve been coming here for awhile … awesome cheesesteaks. In a little corner in a shopping strip off St. James Avenue, so it’s kinda hidden. Small eat in restaurant with tables that you can dine in, or take your food to go. The ladies that are in there are always friendly and welcoming. We’ve had the original, spinach and pizza cheesesteaks. The bread is always soft and fresh, plenty of meat on the sandwiches, and great flavor. You can get an 8″ or 12″ sandwich, you can add onions, mushrooms, hot peppers and/or sweet peppers. Fountain drinks are available, as well as some bottled drinks. You can get just the sandwich or the meal (fried and a fountain drink). They used to have steak fries, but now have different fries, which is a bummer because the steak fries were my favorite.

The largest (and most expensive) sandwich on the menu called “the belly filler” was so small that you will need at least three of them to fill your belly. It tasted great but I was disappointed with the small size of it

Not the best neighborhood;however, the cheesesteak is delicious. Additionally LIKE their krinkle cut fries. Shrimp and some other items on the menu. Have been back several times and a Charleston Native wondered where was I getting this great sandwich from.
