Appetizers: we liked the meatballs (could use one more slice of bread for four meat balls), the spinach artichoke dip and olive tapenade (in that order).
Solid choices are the steak (NY Strip) is decent (two of the three we got was under cooked for medium rare… while the other was just right… maybe use a thermometer?). Shrimp tacos are tasty but don’t expect jumbo shrimp… I’d still order it. Salmon is not farmed and a solid choice as well.
Apparently at lunch the chicken pot pie is the impressive bit maybe one in our group had an outlier of the batch (one was sour) but expect it to be “soupy”.
On another visit the lamb chops were really good. We had the duck breast and the pork chops. Both were the best entrées we had during our stay.
Good food with great service. We were here as a group of nine. The place is part of the Foxhall Resort and has a clean, southern slightly upscale, with southern hospitality. If you’re staying at the resort you likely have a kitchenette at the minimum so you have options per se however this restaurants is a solid option if you don’t want to drive into town. We had all our lunch and dinner meals here, we didn’t mind, and we will be back.

0 stars if I could.
We drove all the way from Chattanooga specifically to come to this restaurant. When we walked in, a woman was on the phone behind the bar. We stood there for about 10 minutes with no greeting or acknowledgment before she finally turned around and told us they were closed.
I told her I had a reservation, and she said they didn’t have a chef that day and that she had just found out herself. Another staff member came out, clearly aware we had been standing there the entire time, yet still didn’t greet us. When we questioned what was going on, the response was vague, unsure, and unprofessional.
The entire interaction felt confusing, dismissive, and unorganized. No apology, no clear communication, no effort made at all. We wasted time and a long drive for an experience that showed zero customer care.
I will not be returning. Customer service speaks volumes, and this was unacceptable.

Love the atmosphere of Blue Pheasant Restaurant, but our main reason of returning is to see the beautiful smiling face of Miss Kim! She has the most pleasant demeanor and treats everyone very special! Miss Kim is a wonderful asset to Blue Pheasant Restaurant, also the Chef is quite good. If it was my establishment, I would definitely give Miss Kim a raise, she really deserves it!!

We enjoy Pheasant Blue for the beautiful setting, great food and friendly service. Our waiter was very attentive. The table we chose last night was outdoors near the pool and had a stunning view. Highly recommend for casual dining or even large groups. Not much traffic to contend with either! A real hidden gem.

Went to Pheasant Blue for Sunday Brunch. Charged us $35 per person for basic fare served in steamed containers. Bulk scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc. There also was sliced ham and roast beef in another steamer tray. A few muffins, cupcakes and cookies rounded out the brunch offering. The meal was similar to a run-of-the-mill chain hotel buffet. Servers brought us water, tea, and coffee.
The servers dragged chairs on the outside patio, making a racquet every time they setup the tables for different sized groups.
What should have been a $20 brunch buffet was almost double, and then they charged us 20% service gratuity for basically getting four water glasses. Pheasant Blue offers mediocre, overpriced food with a large service fee.

An entire night wasted!!!!We arrived shortly before our 7 PM reservation and we were immediately seated. We were seated near the outside pool. Our waitress brought water and began to take our order for drinks and appetizers. We had high hopes for the evening because not only was the venue breathtakingly beautiful, the ordering process was easy . However, that is where the niceties came to a screeching halt. We ordered our entrees at 7:05 and our drinks were filled as we waited. Over an hour passed by and we still hadn’t received our food. Around 8:25, we noticed many entrees coming from the kitchen being delivered to tables seated well after us, and even so, we had never received any information regarding the delay of our meal or updates on when it would be completed. We sat listening to a nearby table exclaiming how delicious the food taste and were even planning what they would get when they return for another visit. Finally, our waitress came to check on us to see how we were enjoying our meal only to be shocked that we hadn’t received any food at all only to realize that our food had been delivered to the neighboring table that had been raving about the food. Our waitress went to the table, retrieved the plates (that had been picked at and breathed over), and stood in front of us as she expected us to “dig in” to the meal. Regardless of being in a pandemic, this move was disrespectful, unsanitary, and downright rude. We immediately expressed our concerns, refused the plates, and asked that our meals be remade (as they should have been once the staff was made aware of the mishap). Our waitress discreetly took the plates and returned 10 minutes later with what she claimed was a freshly made replacement. Unfortunately, that was far from the truth. The plates were cold and identical to the ones we had returned just moments earlier. We requested to speak with a manager who could provide some insight as to why we were receiving such terrible service and find a way to salvage the evening, even if that meant simply receiving the food we ordered (which shouldn’t be difficult for a restaurant). Once the manager came to the table, we explained what happened and that we suspected the food we sent back was the same we received and although she seemed surprised, she flatly stated “do you want the food or not”. She did not express remorse for our experience, did not offer to make things right, and even argued that the food was fresh, despite having no explanation as to why the supposedly new entrées were cold and appeared to be picked through. We were once again told the food was fresh with no offer to prepare a proper replacement. By this point, my husband and I concluded that Pheasant Blue fell extremely and embarrassingly short of their own expectations and therefore would never be able to meet ours. Even without the strict regulations and safety standards required during this pandemic, this behavior is beyond shocking and reprehensible. We were extremely embarrassed as we sat disputing the bill which Jennifer noted she would waive due to the poor service, but as the food was whisked away, there was no apology, no invitation to return to make things better, only the disappointing disappearance of our waitress and the manager and the terrible memory of a promising evening turned sour.
I’m not sure if this is the type of service that is commonplace at Pheasant Blue or other Foxhall-owned establishments. I will say that I am saddened by my experience and saddened by the lack of accountability in the staff. Those in hospitality make promises to focus on the customer and their needs, promise an experience and of course correct when they fall short. The staff at Pheasant Blue has done none of that and quite frankly, should be ashamed at the events that unfolded. I gave 1 star beccause that is the only way google will post the review.

I wanted to give more than two stars but here we are. One star is for our kind server and the second is for good, fresh quality of food. Overall though, we had an extremely poor experience. We had a 7:00 reservation and our server let us know that they were out of one of the only 5 entrees they had. The entrees were ~fancy~ for the casual poolside vibes of the restaurant, and not necessarily crowd pleasers. We all decided we wanted ribs, but then learned they only had one ribs left, so the rest of us (party of 7) chose between oxtail, soft shell crab, and monkfish (look up a pic if you’ve never heard of it-not appealing.) We chose crab. Two of us chose nothing because those aren’t necessarily options fit to most people. The quality of the food was good, but the crab was just too fancy and had too much of its insides to be able to enjoy it.
Overall, the food was very expensive, with very limited options. They need to start small and then try to go big. Add a burger, some salads, chicken, steak, pasta, salmon, etc – just some crowd pleasing options to the menu. Keep one or two more daring options but not a whole menu of them. And keep enough of each item that people actually have a choice.
We ended up buying breakfast burritos from the place next door because the crab was a little ~difficult to stomach~. We are now eating those in our hotel room. Very, very disappointing after an expensive meal. We will not be returning or recommending this place unless they make some major changes.
To top it off, they add a deceptive 20% automatic gratuity, yet have a space for tip, and people could easily miss that. At least make it clear if you choose to do that.
