Our sweet server, I believe her name was Hannah, came by and we ordered. I ordered the Hearty (wo)Man Platter and my daughter ordered the chicken fried steak. Note: these meals also came with pancakes or muffins but we took our muffins to go. First of all, both plates came with tons of food, way more than we could eat, even though I was very hungry! I would have loved a slightly better price point with a little less food. The hash browns were pretty soft and mushy— I would have much preferred them crispy. My daughter really liked her chicken fried steak and my eggs and bacon were done perfectly to my liking. Our server was efficient in checking on us and getting us our bill!
2 burgers, fries and pie. I waited 20mins before even being acknowledged by staff. There was no hostess. I did notice the same person I saw smoking outside when I first arrived- was the person that finally came out when a server asked for help.
After waiting 20minutes for my food? I got to my car and realized they forgot our pie slices. I went in and waited 3 minutes before anyone came out. She brought back one slice and said ‘we just had lemon meringue. I guess that’s what happened’. I was never offered a substitute. It was just kind of a matter of fact sentence. So I asked for a substitute for the other slice. I finally left the restaurant with my pickup order almost 30 minutes after arriving for my scheduled pickup order. About the same length of time it would’ve taken to sit and order.
I chose takeout because I work in Hudson and live in the twin cities.
When I arrived home the lettuce on my burger was rotten. Not wilted from condensation but rotten. You’d have to not care to even pick it up and put it on someone’s food. It was obviously rotten.
This was the most disappointing pickup experience I have ever had in my entire life. I’ve worked management in face paced dining atmospheres and I couldnt imagine treating customers this way or serving a human being expired produce.
Also- smoking on your shift when you work in a restaurant is absolutely foul and so is looking like you don’t take proper care of your hygiene. Non smokers can smell smoke on you and it transfers to the bag you hand them- regardless if you wash your hands well or not.
We wanted a cheap breakfast, and the TV has been showing the 5 under $5 deal every 5 minutes. $5 for 1 egg, 2 pancakes, and 2 strips of bacon. Just what we wanted.
We waited longer than we should have to be seated. There was no one at the front of the restaurant. Once we were seated, we were taken care of, sort of. The server was very nice, but when we showed the 5 under $5 deal on their website, she said they stopped offering it a week ago. She was nice and helped us with some other specials, but how do you not honor a deal that is being shown on TV and is offered on the Perkins website for the Hudson restaurant? When the food arrived, it was barely even warm. The pancakes would not even melt butter. One order of pancakes had a hair cooked into it.
Lesson learned. Perkins is not the place for us.
Thank you for a great time
