The food was really tasty, the Galbi was amazing and the staff were really helpful with the menu and where to start. I didn’t love the experience of Korean bbq it was a lot of work to eat all of the different options we ordered. The potatoes we ordered was the best potatoes I’ve ever eaten in my life.

We had been craving KBBQ for days while we were visiting Chicago, and Perilla didn’t disappoint. The banchan was extremely fresh (especially the kimchi—my partner couldn’t stop ordering it). We were with another couple and we ordered the chef’s tasting + 3-4 more proteins (specifically the galbi, which might’ve been my favorite), banchan, and the Korean fried chicken wings. The wings were crispy with a sweet salty sauce and the meat options were so tender. The only issue I had with our experience was that the staff weren’t too friendly and it was a bit confusing about if our waiter or we were supposed to cook (we had been to places where either were an option). Altogether, fantastic flavors and food.

While food quality, service and atmosphere were definitely great, I kept thinking that it’s maybe too fancy translation of Korean BBQ.

Very upscale Korean food. The atmosphere is really great. Its a bit weird for me though to have the Korean experience without the smoke. This place provide grilling but isn’t filled with smoke. The food is good, a true Korean experience. I’d just say that it’s a bit expensive foe what you get.

Really enjoyed our dinner here tonight. We had the frisée and larson salad, silken tofu stew and kimchi fried rice. The latter of the three was our personal favourite. If we had to make one suggestion (which might I add is very minor), it would be to get the rice nice and crunchy at the bottom since it is served in a hot stone bowl. As for the hostess and waitstaff, they are all great at what they do. Arden and the gentleman who kept refilling our water however deserve special mention!

This is a perfect spot for date night. It’s a nice intimate and cozy restaurant with amazing food and service. The drinks were delicious and the A5 wagyu was amazing of course! Would go back again, 10/10.

Having lived in the epicenter of Korean American cuisine, nearby Koreatown of Los Angeles, I am bewildered and flabbergasted by tonight’s discovery in Perilla. In about an hour and ten minutes, we were whisked away by all the flavors anyone could ever ask for—the scallion dumplings, the kimchi, even the Korean pickles are worth raving about. And as if the appetizers weren’t enough to fawn over—just wait until you’re served some of the best choice-cut beef to rival any of Chicago’s infamous steakhouses! I wish I could meet and hug whomever is the butcher for all the wagyu and filet mignon we enjoyed here.

This restaurant experience was wonderful. Beautiful space, clean, spacious. Our waitress, Patty, was so kind and I appreciate her explaining things on the menu to me and showing me how to cook the short rib!
