I had a great experience at Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant in Matteson! The food was fresh, flavourful, and served quickly. The Tacos and enchiladas were especially delicious. The staff was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was relaxed and perfect for a causal meal with family. I will definitely be coming back!

I’ve been here several times and the food is good but not your authentic Mexican cuisine! The staff are always friendly. On Tuesday’s it’s half off margaritas and their good the bonus is the Dj he will have you dancing! Tuesdays can be too pack and I don’t like crowds. I went out to help my Bestfriend celebrate her mother’s heavenly birthday and we had a good time!

Came in on a Tuesday for a birthday celebration. I ordered the tostadas. Chicken was shredded and juicy. I do not like when my food is dry or chopped in squares. so whoever cooked them last night did an awesome job. The drinks are good and are a nice size for the price. The DJ was playing good music as well. Just tone the music down just a pinch so we can hear ourselves at least. Security is a plus so in case anyone wants to get rowdy. But overall my experience with the food and drinks were a 10/10.

I stopped by on a Tuesday evening. It was very lively and had a nice vibe. Perhaps I should have dined in. Instead I placed an order to go.
The host is nice and cordial.
The food was just eh. The steak and chicken fajitas were not flavored well, surprisingly the wraps for the fajitas seemed like they were microwaved which left them hard. I really wasted money on this meal. That’s All. I should’ve had a V8.

I have NEVER heard of giving a table of TWO a 18% gratuity. I ordered a stuffed steak taco and 27oz margarita. No sides. No extra. It would’ve been $34 almost $40 for my portion. Ridiculous!!!! On a slow Saturday night at that! Only one party that took the wait staff attention to the point they’re forgetting our peppers and waters. I’ve been coming here off and on for years but I won’t be back. Forcing a tip for mediocre service on a slow night.

I really need to start by saying I had so much trouble finding a high quality / readable menu online. Their website was not loading or working at all and the only photos of the menu they on had google were blurry. I went to the regular Pepe’s website, found this location and was able to finally see a menu. I called and placed my order and it was like $25 more than I had suspected whilst looking at that menu. Long story short they need to update their website for an accurate menu and pricing. When I went to pick up my order everyone was nice and the food was good but my only complaint was my 3 Steak Taco Dinner. They had steak and the smallest amount of pico and a ton of corn ?? Was soooo confused because menu said they come with cheese, lettuce and tomato. Definitely was little disappointed since that meal alone was $18 and didn’t come with what I wanted or what menu said.
I was given a physical pamphlet with their menu and pricing- I’ll take matters into my own hands in hope it helps someone else.

First off, best Pepe’s in the area. The staff always treats us like family and the food is delicious. Very authentic. They have homemade Horchata not that bag stuff which is an absolute bonus. I had the stuffed tacos meal. My daughters had shrimp tacos and a kids nacho. My wife had the shrimp and octopus cocktail. All of the food was delicious and the portions were amazing!

Overdue for bathroom remodel. The sewage smell is awful. Food is pretty good. Portion sizes & price for salsa to go needs to be reconsidered. Overall, it’s pepes.
