I haven’t even left yet and I’m already making this review. $80 later and the absolute worst BBQ we’ve ever had. Girl at the counter was eating as she was taking our order, maybe she wasn’t able to get her break in? Not sure. Mac and cheese looked like a straight cottage cheese mess. Loaded baked potato was awful. So dry and huge chunks of over cooked potato, i struggled to mix it up along with the dry meat. Had to ask for extra butter, cheese and “sour cream”. Not positive it was sour cream. It was super watery. Looked more like Mexican crema. Not near as much meat on it as any other place would put. Super disappointed. Especially seeing as much as we spent.

I use to visit the Mansfield location several times and just moved to Midlothian. To put IT NICE.. Midlothian needs whoever the cooks were in Mansfield. I had the brisket plate with bbq beans and Mac and cheese. Brisket at Mansfield had that perfect crusted rub and melted in your mouth with no sauce, loads of flavor. The Midlothian burnt ends was super sauced down and they looked like just cuts of brisket not a true burnt end..flavor was lost in all the bbq sauce. Bbq beans was really just pinto beans..not one Oz of bbq flavor..doctoring them up as I type. Ok now to the Mac and cheese.. the Mansfield location had elbow shells in like a a smoked cheesy goodness with chunks of smoke sausage in it..Midlothian is a penny pasta lightly sauced no meat… :/. Also for the price $24 I really was hoping for some really good bbq.. but alas that’s not what I got

I tried Big D’s last evening. I’m a huge BBQ fan, I smoke my own meat at home and have been for a good couple of years as well as eating at lots of different bbq joints. Unfortunately I wasn’t overly impressed with Big D’s. I tried their pulled pork, brisket & turkey. The pulled pork had too much sauce in it so I sort of lost the flavor of the meat, the brisket was kind of lack luster BUT the turkey was surprisingly good, very moist and tender. Turkey is very easy to dry out so I was pleased. The kind lady who took my order suggested mac n cheese as a side which essentially was penne pasta with some thin cheese and hardly any bacon which was disappointing but I like a thicker, cheesier Mac so depends on your preference. To add, the food was luke warm at best so, overall not feeling inspired to return. Not the worst bbq, but also not the best.

I love eating at Big D! It’s always fresh, fast and delicious! Being greeted by the workers makes me feel like I’m family! Morgan was our server and was so much fun! Matt is always up front prepping meals, chopping up meat and greeting people! He remembers my name and always asks about my family. We feel like he gives us extra special attention, but I think he treats everyone that way. Love the whole experience!

Love the atmosphere! Old brick building serving quality BBQ. I ordered the (3)meat plate which consisted of: Sliced Brisket, Burnt Ends, and Pork Ribs. It came with two sides which I chose their Beans and CornBake.

This is one of our go to’s for date night. We love the atmosphere and the bar is phenomenal. Great outdoor area too during football season when it’s not so hot. Carlos makes the best ranch waters and is very personable. Don’t skip this place, especially for a date night or nightcap!

What a great experience! They sadly ran out of sliced brisket before the cutter got to our order but he was very apologetic and wanted to make it up! I understand from previously working at a bbq restaurant they only make so much meat a day. What I really appreciated is the cutter who I’m also assuming is the owner let us know how sorry he was and offered us some burnt ends which he did not have to do! Overall food was absolutely amazing the seasoning on the brisket was phenomenal and bar drinks were great! Also a huge shoutout to all of the staff for over the top service!
