The one week each year I am in the area I make it a point to come to Pegtown for breakfast at least twice. The food is THAT good! Pizza is also good but that we only get occasionally. It’s the breakfast that really makes this place. The owner and servers are literally some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Be warned: if you’re in a party larger than 4 be prepared to wait a bit if it’s busy. The restaurant is small and sometimes servers are scare, but I promise you it’s well worth the wait! I cannot recommend this place enough!!
Update: here in June 2025. Not super busy at this point in the summer, so we got seated really quick both times! Ordered the same thing again (and the second time pancakes) and I forgot how GOOD it was!! Love it love it love it!!

Stayed in the area on a weekend vacation to traverse city and glen arbor. Food was made with quality ingredients, but prices definitely reflected that. Our order consisted of 2 chicken subs as they came (no extra toppings), fries, and onion rings, and it was $38. Initially I didn’t think much of it, but after thinking about the posted prices of the sandwiches ($11.25 each, which is fair for the size they are about 8 inches) I realized that onion rings and fries were an additional $15, that was disappointing to realize. I paid for everything I ordered and didn’t make a problem with the staff, just wanted to share my experience, as a lot of people review this location with low prices, and in my experience not so much.

On another note, the woman who took our order was very sour. I understand people can have good and bad days, but this woman was notably rude. We were being polite and patient as she asked us to “Hold on!” When we walked up to the counter. She also seemed to toss our boxes of food on the counter when she brought them to us.

One final piece, I saw a lot of stuff about breakfast here, we did not get the option to get breakfast, that could’ve been because of the time in which we went to eat, which was fine because we wanted subs, but I would like to mention breakfast was not an option when I was there

Pretty cool little place for a bite. Kids had their pizza, the hubs and I had our sandwiches with onion rings.
Everything was very good and fresh!
The woman who waited on us, had fun teasing our son, like how a grandmother would. We felt at home.

Wonderful place for the prices and to support small business, wait time was not as high when in the door their had been great at getting people in and out the door! My fiancé and I received the Big engine and little engine breakfast which was just perfect portion sizes for our adventurous start to the day. Recommended for great food and excellent service!!

We stopped for breakfast. The food was delicious, five stars all day long. The service deserves more than five stars. The staff was incredible!

This is simply one of my favorite breakfast joints anywhere.

We live downstate and always make a point to visit the Pegtown for breakfast at least once when in the area. And we have for many years.

Service is always great, food is good, cooked perfectly, and it’s the furthest thing from a tourist trap.

Absolutely amazing subs! Fresh made bread! Went 2 days in a row!!
And the breakfasts? The corned beef is totally off the hook! Sourdough toast to boot! My wife totally loves the blueberry pancakes!

FUN PLACE WITH GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS! Really loved their omelets and gluten free toast. I’m not certain how careful they are with cross contamination, but they did seem to have lots of stuff that’s gluten-free. My omelet had eggs, mozzarella cheese, spinach, and bacon in it. They did tell me that they also offer a gluten free wrap for their sandwiches, too, although I wasn’t ordering lunch. Will definitely be back!
