to be clear, this is not a bad review. this place is freaking awesome. the atmosphere is exactly like the kind of pizza shop you’d find in Chicagoland. the employees behind the counter were funny and pleasant, which made our experience even better. the breadsticks are TO DIE FOR and arguably better than the pizza itself. the deep dish we got was good, but I’d like to lend some feedback to make the pizza even more authentic. the first thing I noticed was that the pizza could use a lot more sauce. don’t be afraid to make the deep dish saucy – it’s supposed to be! I also think a refresh for the sauce recipe is needed. it tasted very subpar, like a canned pizza sauce. adding in some different herbs and spices would really make it stand out. lastly, I found the crust to be very dry. some garlic butter on the edges would really top this pizza off! looking forward to coming back in a bit and trying it again.

The tavern style pizza especially the bbq chicken pizza tasted as close as it does to the pizza from my hometown Bensenville. I’ve been searching far and wide for pizza like it and am so glad to say I found it. I also got the Italian beef with au jus on the side and that was so delicious the bread was nicely toasted as well. Also all the Chicago sports decor made my day.

I was not impressed. Ending up throwing away the food. I ordered a medium pizza, extra cheese, half pepp, light sauce with an order of mozzarella sticks to go. Picked up the order and went home. The mozzarella sticks were soaked in condemnation and soggy. The pizza looked great, but was very greasy. The crust tasted a bit burnt and was rock hard. I didnt find it to taste good with how greasy and soft the topping were on a rock hard crust. $30 wasted sadly.

If you’re a Chicago guy stuck in FL, grieving at your bad life choices, you can cheer yourself up by stepping into Paul’s- the gastronomical Embassy of Chicago. Order up a nice SMO Well done and a bottle- yes a Bottle – of cold RC and perhaps a nice eye-talian beef and transport yourself to your local Chicago tavern, watching the Cubs slaughter the hapless Cardinals and chewing on some Chicago Tavern style thin crust – our Real Chicago pizza.. Ah, sweeet..

We love Paul’s! Went in around 6pm, they’re super packed and there’s a wait for table but we got one in like 15 mins. The deep dish pizza was amazing! The lady informed us ahead that pizza will be ready in 45 mins, it was worth the wait! Straight fresh from the oven! We munched in some Garlic Parmesan Poppers while waiting and it was delicious! We live in Tampa and it’s hard to find chicago deep dish style in the area so we drove to Clearwater for this, good thing Paul’s didn’t disappoint! Homemade Cannoli was just okay. Ambiance is like old fashioned diner but i loved it! Whole Restaurant is clean including the toilets! Staffs are really nice too! Attentive and approachable! Our total bill was around $55 excluding tip!

First time I’ve been to Paul’s Chicago Pizza and I was very impressed!!! This is an order at counter restaurant and they bring the food out to your table when ready. Entire restaurant is adorned with festive themed decor which looks great!! Food was brought out in good time and was perfect temperature. Ordered 2 pizzas, one was the 8” Buffalo chicken pizza and the second one was a 16” thin crust cheese pizza. Both pizzas were excellent!!! The thin crust was perfectly crispy and not over cooked!! Highly recommend trying this restaurant out!! They have a great variety of menu choices in addition to what we ordered. They have soft drinks as well as draught beer and more to drink. Looking forward to visiting again soon to try some more of your menu items!!! Great job overall to the server and also kitchen staff for making my experience worthwhile!!

I was craving a deep dish pizza & missing Chicago so we gave this place a shot. I’m so happy we did, the vibes were super chill and the place felt like home. We had the meat stuffed pizza & it was delicious! We had two slices left over which we air fried the next day and it came out just as good! Yum!! The fries & garlic poppers were delicious as well.

The Chicago Experience food and resraurant memorabilia, seating, etc. True Chicago thin crust, and cut in squares like it should be sliced. Chicago deep dish stuffed is very good too. The crust is a bit too thick/doughy at the edge/side (bottom base is fine) for a true Chicago match on the deep dish stuffed, but it is a very good pie overall.
