This place is hands down the greatest diner in the world. Don’t be fooled by other restaurants in central Wisconsin touting the best fish fry in the area. Paulies was voted #1 by a guy that lives several blocks down the road who has sampled most in the area. The others don’t come close to Paulies.
You can feel the small town charm and family like atmosphere as soon as you enter. All it takes is one visit and you’ll be an instant regular.
The quality and thought that goes into each and every menu item will be noticed upon your visit. From the hand battered curds to the BBQ that’s featured often. You certainly won’t be disappointed and will be glad you made the trip to experience this one of a kind diner slap dab in the middle of the state.

Paulie’s Diner in Pittsville, Wood County, WI is a great farm family-type, hometown restaurant with traditional counter seating, tables & chairs with a wonderful selection of old home meal & dessert selections. Paulie’s beer battered Friday Fish Fry is a classic. Excellent food at very reasonable prices for breakfast, lunch & early dinner. Home cooked food and great service with a friendly smile & desire to make sure their customers are well-fed & very satisfied. Great home made pies with local made ice cream are to die for. The patrons are all friendly, hard-working, salt of the earth people with smiles & hellos to greet anyone who comes through the door. Paulie & his staff are super nice, the food is excellent & the cost is most reasonable. We go to Paulie’s at least 3-5 times a month! Highly recommended.

Our family just had the most amazing breakfast here! Everything was flavorful and delicious!!! The portions are very generous also, almost enough for two meals in one, and the pricing was still super reasonable! Our waitress was super friendly, and carried such positive energy that was enjoyable to be around. The atmosphere was small-town, and carried a family like feel; with local hunters, elderly and friendly conversations warming the room.
