The food was great! We got lamb shanks, mussels, and cod. The cod melted in my mouth! The calamari was tasty and crispy. My only disappointment was that it felt a little cramped inside, which was warm in the middle of summer. The space is dim, though, so it still felt private. The food and wine were wonderful!

This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Columbia. The owners are local, and food is traditional. Fresh ingredients, freshly baked bread, and great customer service are always staples. The atmosphere is great for a date night, with lower lighting and an intimate feel. They also have a traditional flair which is not “too fancy”…perfect for winding down and relaxing on a date, with none of the snobbery associated with other white-tablecloth fine dining establishments.

This cozy family restaurant is located in Columbia’s old firehouse. The staff treats you like family; the food tastes like home. We came for my parents’ 39th anniversary and they served a round of champagne. Such a delightful evening!

My partner and I love Villa Tronco! We used to live a block away, which made it easy to go for a nice dinner. Now we will happily make the drive to come back. We enjoy trying their specials for the night in order to get something new every time. Food is always tasty and the staff have always been welcoming to us. The owner has come by every time we eat there, which is a nice touch.

It had been far too long since I dined with Villa Tronco. It’s not hard to see why this is SC’s oldest restaurant (1940). The menu is a delightful pairing of fantastic specials (like the dijon encrusted cod pictured here) and timeless classics that haven’t changed (like the pizza, which is great as an appetizer). The ambiance of live music from inside and the fantastic weather outside were the perfect accompaniment to my stellar meal. I will be back often – maybe even before I finish typing this revie…

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. The oldest restaurant in south carolina and I’m just getting there for the first time, better late than never. Can’t wait to get back. Service was outstanding and the staff helped with the right selection of food and cocktails. I had the steak special tonight and it cut like butter. Highly recommend. Get there if you can and you won’t be disappointed.
