I will never buy store bought sausage again! I bought some sausages from here today and they are hands down the best I have ever had! They have excellent plate lunches as well. Love this place!!

Decided to visit here while in town. I can say it was different. No one had on masks serving the food. The lady cleaning touched everything but didn’t wear gloves or a mask. BUT, the food was actually really good. I had the pulled chicken with slaw and hot bbq (liquid). The bbq sauce was more like water than actual sauce but if was good. The macaroni and green beans were bland but not disgusting. The ribs were good and the potato salad was made correctly. Overall I was satisfied.

Finally food with flavor and is well cooked. We’ve been in the area for a year and have had a hard time finding good local food. We’re not into the heat and serve big chain “restaurants” because they’re disgusting. I’ve visited 3 times for lunch and was impressed every time. The meatloaf was awesome, full of flavor and juicy. The fried fish with hushpuppys even surprised me. That is usually something I prefer at home because it is too bland or too salty. Not here the fish cornmeal had real flavor. The side dishes I’ve had were mostly well seasoned and delicious (hushpuppies, mashed potatoes brown gravy, stewed tomatoes amazing, sweet potato casserole yes please). There are a few items I’ve had which could use some improvement. The boiled cabbage was over cooked and probably unavoidable being on a steam line. The greens were flavorless. Better than too salty like most places but needed some ham and seasoning to really make it perfect. Other than that it’s becoming one of my favorite places to grab a bite.

Greatest value around, large portions. Many great meat options, with great vegetables options, as well. Cafeteria style ‘plate lunch’ service, so tell them your order is “to go” – you will likely be taking some home with you. This is north Jackson’s favorite ‘family & friends hang out’, with large seating area. This is that place where old friends, law enforcement, utility crews, and business associates come to regularly for a hearty meal.

I visited here awhile ago, I purchased 25 LBS of ox tails, I left there with the whole tail uncut. You can also find various cuts of meats of pork and beef. If you plan to eat there make sure you get your order in while the food is “kitchen hot and ready… Heat lamps and steam table are used to keep the food warm, resulting in the food being overcooked.

I was born in Gibson County, TN, and I grew up eating barbecue, hog head souse, liver cheese, rag bologna, and a lot more. Whenever I go home, I always stop by and get myself some hog head souse and my sister some liver cheese to bring back to Texas. If you want any of these good eats, stop by Latham’s in Jackson, TN and you won’t be sorry. They serve breakfast and lunch. Get there before 6 pm to get your dinner.
