Reviews
The reviews here, below / before mine are quite accurate.
The coffee was close to awful. We had a cappuccino and an Americano. Both were just about drinkable.
We also had a pear pastry. To be fair, that was delicious, which is the reason I gave two stars for the food.
The price for these three items was insane!
Far too expensive. I would even go so far as to say it was a rip off!!
We sat outside. The chairs were filthy!!! There were birds hoping on and off the tables, so that makes them dirty and unhygienic too. We kept everything on our tray and left very quickly.
Our experience of the service was relatively pleasant.
We stopped there as we wanted to enjoy a coffee break in between our shopping spree at this mall.
It was the only place we could see that looked and felt like a coffee break kind of place.
And being part of a chain that we know and recognise we thought it had to be reasonably good. Well it most certainly is not good!!
Disappointing and we were definitely disappointed.
Avoid if you can. Or at the very least, be aware of what to expect.
I was hoping this would be a tasty bakery to have for lunch but every part of this experience was poor.
The sandwiches they have in the display have no prices so I assumed they would be in the ballpark of what was on their menu. I was wrong. My sister ordered a turkey and Brie sandwich which came to $23 (not pictured) and I got the special chicken club that was $21.
The chicken club must have been sitting as the bottom bun was completely soggy and disintegrated when I picked it up. The sandwich had a single slice of chicken, and one slice of bacon (along with tomato and avocado). The value was not here. If the portion size is going to be small, I expect the quality to be high. It was not.
The almond croissant I got had great filling but the pastry was overcooked and rock hard. It was $6.
I assume the sandwich was soggy because it was sitting around for a while before it got to the table. Which would make sense since it took 40 minutes from ordering until when we got our food. There were just a handful of other customers. Not enough to justify waiting so long for a sandwich.
The atmosphere is “cute” but needs help. No air conditioning in the place besides the loud unit above the door. The door is left open allowing birds to come inside and walk around on tables.
I would highly recommend you skip this place and find another French bakery to go to.
I’m writing this for others to know. It’s also a ripoff, 2 latte and a pastry, over $20. Pastry was good, almond croissant. That’s about it. Place is aged, table tops are eroded, will never be back here. Like a Chinese restaurant where no money is spent to improve the place. Wished I had read the other reviews, my wife dragged me here, last time I’m listening to her. This tarnishes the image of Sawgrass mall.
Nt recommended at all. Food is disgusting, eclair OMG this is nt Pail at all!
Staff are very rude, the place is filthy
Given the bad quality of the viennoiserie, I am not sure it is still part of Paul franchise which is supposed to be the same reliable quality anywhere in the world.
We know the PAUL brand well from France and other U.S. locations, but this place does not represent it at all. The quality was terrible. The “croissants” (for $6–7!) were dense rolls, not real croissants. The sandwich had a paper-thin slice of meat and tomato, the rest was stale bread. Coffee was awful, and we were charged for double-shot cappuccinos we didn’t ask for — $8.50 per cup. No other size options, and even an Americano with milk costs the same.
The place was dirty: worn chairs and tables with what looked like bird droppings, a sticky, dirty high chair for kids. The restroom was completely closed, so there was nowhere to wash hands.
Service was rude and dismissive. We were told to “go get your coffee” with zero courtesy — but they certainly didn’t forget to charge us.
Lowest rating possible. We will not be back.
