The food is made by the mom and it’s delicious. The birria tacos are wonderful and the carnitas and pastor mixed taco is really good!
My one negative might be that it’s not as filling compared to the price so it’s a bit expensive, but it’s a mom and pop restaurant so it’s worth it.
Haven’t had drinks here so can’t speak to that, but the bar looks cute and so do the drinks.
The vibe is very homey, it’s small so if you come with a group it gets super busy.
Guacamole was perfect and probably the best I’ve had, tortilla chips were super fresh, crispy and not oily at all which was surprising to me since they’re always kinda where most mexican restaurants falter.
I had the veggie tostados which were delicious, packed and just the right serving to fill you up properly by your last bite. My partner had the flautas which were packed with meat and had a nice smoky, umami, spicy flavour to it.
The elotes were excellent because of the sauce and overall the service was extremely attentive and helpful. Each member of the staff greeted and served us with a radiant smile which only comes when you’re really proud of the place you work at and the food you serve.
Lastly, this was by far the cleanest and nicest bathroom I’ve ever seen in a restaurant that didn’t smell like a bathroom at all! All the details in the bathroom spoke of someone thoughtful behind it. Multiple hooks, spacious, good and refreshing air freshener that wasn’t overpowering and a giant mirror, stuff that’s hard to get right and maintain!
I highly recommend this womxn owned small business for its excellent service and food! Don’t pay attention to the reviews that complain of food being salty or whatever because they’re clearly not used to well seasoned food that actually has flavours. The seasoning in every dish we had was just right. Thank you for the wonderful food and this surely won’t be the last time I visit this place!
PS there’s plenty of free parking further up the street and on side streets if you don’t want to park in metered spots!
My wife swares my their Birria Tocos, we’ve tried a number of places and she says they are the best. I particularly like their shrimp Tacos. The only thing holding my back from giving a full five stars is that all their other Tacos don’t have many toppings and are kind of plane for my taste. If you are a Taco purist, and can do without all the salsas, guac, corn, and green leafy stuff, I’m sure you’ll love their Tacos and selection of 3 sauces. Or get the shrimp or Birria Tocos which have a bit more flare.
But no flops here. Pair each bite with the guac or salsa and it’s perfect moving on to the star of the show, why I came here! The birria looks amazing. I loved how crispy the fried cheese was. Similar to the burrito, most birria taco spots make a wet and floppy taco, but no flops here!! The meat was super tender and you can tell it’s been stewed inside the consume for hours maybe even days?! Each bite was better than the last.
My only warning is due be mindful of how much consume you’re consuming as it’s a little salty and you might not notice it until after you’ve left the restaurant or even the next day.
