Had a wonderful dinner here recently. The ambience is upscale yet comfortable. The service was incredible. Our waiter was very patient with my grandparents; at one point he called my grandma a young lady which made her night. The food was spectacular and I appreciate that they had gluten-free pasta. Best Italian food I’ve had in the Valley in a while.

On our visit to the Phoenix area, we dined at this cozy family Italian restaurant. We were joined my brother and sister-in-law, and each of us tried a different dish. We had the mussels for an appetizer. They were very good and tender. I had the lasagna, my husband had the red clam sauce linguine, my brother had a woodfired pizza and my sister-in-law had a salmon entrée. Each one of us enjoyed our meal immensely. I highly recommend stopping by this warm and inviting establishment.

As soon as you open that door… the atmosphere the service and overall the food! I was craving Lasagne. Lord have mercy! That tomatoes sauce was tasty and delicious. No tart taste no acidity taste. It was bright and red delicious layered lasagne. The food and company were great. I was in heaven !

Great place for Italian, we ordered the pesto pasta and the oven roasted carrots, both were really good! Our friends ordered pizzas which they liked as well. Just had to wait a while for our reservation, as the tables were not free. The hostess’ were kind and made sure we had a good time

It’s my birthday and I wanted Italian. This place looked good, and the menu had some decent offerings. We made a reservation for an indoor table. We told the hostess that we had a reservation and she didn’t even look. She just said “indoor or outdoor?” She would have known if she would have looked. The decor is cute enough- some blue fabric chairs, some ikea lighting, a wall of mirrors.. nice. The food was delivered REALLY quick. Like- too quick. Our appetizers were delivered about 30 seconds after ordering. The rest of the food came out maybe 2 minutes later. We got the burratta bruschetta starter. Not impressed. It was just some really runny messy cheese on toast with a small slice of tomato and a basil leaf. It was sour tasting. The menu said it had “honey balsamic”, but there was no sweetness. I’ve ordered bruschetta at a lot of restaurantsand this was on the lower end of the spectrum. It was pretty, but that’s about it. I got the papperdelle bolognese entree. The sauce tasted fine- but nothing exciting. The noodles were far too al dente- actually really chewy. There were constantly hard chunks getting caught in my teeth. Not fun. The restaurant was filled with screaming children since they serve pizza – and their moms were guzzling wine. I didn’t expect this place to have so many tables of kids. Halfway through dinner the sun came raging through the windows- even though they had tint- and I couldn’t see a thing for the rest of the meal. For two entrees, two diet sodas and one appetizer- it was a hundred dollars with tip. It was just an overall unimpressive experience… I’m not going to be returning.

We were excited to try with all the wonderful reviews. The wedge salad was disappointing comes with an Italian dressing. They no longer have draft beer and we didn’t get happy hour price. Our margarita pizza was ok nothing to rave about. The ambience is cute. We will give this place a second try and hope other choices are better.

Update: Huge improvement from a year ago! Pastas are great tasting, the appetizers are very good – the staff and service is still also very good. Bravo for the improvement!

We have gone to Parma many times. If you dine in the food is ok. If you order to go, the experience is horrible. I ordered the wedge salad, see the picture of what I received versus other pictures in the reviews of what you receive if you dine in. We also ordered two other salads with chicken. There barely was any chicken. We weighed the chicken on our home scale and it was 2.3oz per salad, for and $8 up charge each. We have given many opportunities to Parma but now it’s time we find another Italian restaurant.

Parma Italian Roots is average Italian food. I found the prices to be very expensive for small portions was average tasting. The staff are nice and the atmosphere is casual.
