I do really like this restaurant. Good variety of appetizers and mains. Great ambience. Food quality is generally very good. Tonight we had the fish and chips (ok), halibut, salmon and flounder all excellent with sides of the potato and Mac and Cheese. Love the tuna cracker and clams were top notch while shrimp gumbo was just ok. Wish they had the cornbread that comes with fried chicken dish as a side. Service was great although I’m turned off a little by any restaurant that makes you order your mains and appetizers at same time. BYOB.

I usually love the food here and everything I got was amazing accept the lobster. It did not taste very good but usually everytime I get lobster it tastes good. I loved the New England clam shower croquettes those are always amazing and the Caesar salad was so good along with the Mac and cheese! My sister got the fried chicken and it was actually really good. I got the combo and I loved the scallops, shrimp and crab cakes I just didn’t enjoy the lobster.

Great food, fresh seafood, and great service! Went with a group of 5 and had made a reservation 2 weeks in advance. Loved the seafood and Mac and cheese. BYOB so definitely bring some wine or something fun to drink. Highly recommend the combo so you can try a variety of seafood. The corn was so tasty and unique! The lobster corn dogs were super unique too. Highly recommend if you are in the area looking for a nice dinner!

Dinner. Sunsets. Boats. We out here, livin’ LBI
Suggest booking a reservation a day or 2 prior as this place is always busy, and for good reason. Great location on the water, sunset was spectacular. Food and service, phenomenal. Amy took real good care of us and made sure we had everything we needed.
Parking was a little challenging for the area, but free street parking where all the restaurants are on the water, to be expected.

Tuna crackers are delicious, definitely a must order. The other food was very good. Our party ordered everything from the fried chicken to the monkfish (excellent) and everyone enjoyed.

Okay, to give you my honest opinion, the best thing that you can get there is the lobster corn dogs. They were very good. Everything else, was very overpriced for the quality of the food, even the fries came out cold as if they had been sitting out on the table for a week. They did bring some new fries and they were good. But for the price that you were paying to be there, there should be no exception to that because it wasn’t just one order, it was 2 that was this way. The rest of the food, the surf and turf-tasted like a pot roast out of a Campbell soup can. And just so you know, it is very hard to write this review when you were going there to celebrate birthdays of 2 people, their children were taking us all here to enjoy ourselves. I actually hope and pray they don’t read this because the food was actually that bad. But on the bright side, the company and the camaraderie and the service was excellent. My suggestion—fire your cook —your prices certainly do not reflect the quality of food that we’ve gotten. I promise you if it wasn’t for the special occasion that we were there, that meal would not have been paid for and just so you know the tip alone was over a $100 so that shows you what type of meal that we all ordered. My suggestion, until they change their cook and prices go to Chick-fil-A and buy a meal for the whole youth football team or boxing team-then you’ll get your money’s worth. But on a serious note, it was actually highway robbery for cold food. It nearly ruined a great experience.
But the company still made it a very pleasant evening. The atmosphere was helpful also because it was a great and there was a great view. I hope and pray that they can correct their flaws and see that it’s more about the quality, then the money. But in this world and time, it’s all about the money. So take my advice, find a more appreciative place to go. Have a blessed day. Ps The dishes that we had are not listed below. So, see the picture hopefully you can make out the menu

We just cannot say enough good things about Parker’s Garage. We go every season now, multiple times. The service is impeccable. The food is creative and delicious. The oyster selection is great. The dessert options are always unique and so worth it. This last time we got the ginger cream puff with dark cherries, omg out of this world! We have never had a bad meal, table, or service experience here. The perfect sunset dinner to cap out our beach days.

Phenomenal food done just right. Good selection with a few high end options. Price reasonable especially for the combo meal. Potatoes great. Corn amazing. Ashley, our server, was attentive, knowledgeable and professional. Lovely balance. Several tables with large parties. The staff seemed to manage quite well. The only down side was the host staff. We were a few minutes late and they made sure to tell us we had to be out by a certain time . Otherwise, highly recommend this restaurant.

Great BYOB dinner on LBI. A little loud and the dining room resembles the sort of dining room that you would expect if you jumped on a tour bus… but don’t be fooled… the seafood is EXCEPTIONAL!! One downside is the fact that the website and Google search, and even a panicked phone call on route were incorrect and out of date. After making reservations and jumping in the car we were alarmed to see that all of our initial searches indicated that the restaurant was closed. Thank goodness we persisted, and found out that although all of their social media and phone messages indicated otherwise… the restaurant was open!

I expected sooooo much from Parker’s Garage, given the positive reviews that I’m always reading on the Long Beach Island Bites Facebook page. But we were not impressed.

Our server brought water and an ice bucket for our wine right away. We asked if there were any specials, she said no, and did not note any unavailable items at that time. When we tried to place the appetizer order, we were told we needed to order appetizers and entrees all right now, which was off putting.

We opted for the “famous” tuna crackers and duck buns to start. My husband ordered fried chicken, with sides of Mac and cheese, and brussel sprouts, and I ordered swordfish Milanese.

About 10 minutes after we ordered, our server came back and told my husband there was no chicken. Unfortunately, he didn’t like most of the other entrees. It would have been much better to be informed of this up front, or at least right after ordering, as we probably would have left. He picked the scallops with “bacon” (pork belly).

We received our appetizers. I dove into the tuna crackers – tuna is my favorite appetizer, and I order it everywhere I go. This was easily the WORST tuna appetizer I’ve ever had. It had a strong and overwhelming citrus flavor, and the chunks of tuna were mixed with mashed avocado. It was a visual mess. I don’t know how people are out there singing the praises of this dish. I would never recommend it to my worst enemy. I don’t know if we just got a bad plate of it, or this is the norm and people who eat here just accept mediocrity.

The duck buns tasted fine. But they were still…odd. I fully expected shredded or chopped duck, topped with pickles and hoisin. Instead, they formed the duck into a bizarre patty and breaded and fried it. It felt like something you’d get at a fast food restaurant like a filet o fish patty, but with duck. There were not pickles, there was something pickled that was pink (possibly radish? It didn’t taste like pickled onion), but the menu description should be more accurate.

Entrees and sides…Let’s start with the visual of my husband’s scallops. Why on earth are they covering scallops with a layer of dry/undressed frisee and greens? As he ate it, he also found the scallops could have been seared better, and the pork belly was not fully rendered. Some was inedible.

The sides were terrible. They were originally selected to go with the fried chicken entree, so it was already a mismatch. The Mac and cheese had a THICK layer of congealed cheese on top. The Mac and cheese itself was bland and uninspiring, and I left the gross top cheese on my side plate.

The brussel sprouts were burned to the point of tasting bitter. I did not taste any of the honey mustard vinaigrette that was supposedly on them. We ate a couple, but they were not good enough to keep eating them,

The swordfish Milanese was plated terribly and tasted worse. It was in a bowl where I wasn’t able to even get in to cut it. The fish was extremely overcooked and dry as a bone. The “tomato salad” on top was dry tomatoes and onions. It didn’t have the juiciness a regular tomato would have, never mind any dressing or moisture whatsoever. Dry salad on dry fish with dry pieces of basil on top. The whipped avocado was piped on like it was buttercream frosting in little bits, it had no flavor and was visually unappealing. There was no basil aioli to speak of. It may have been in the corn underneath the fish, but it was desperately needed on the dry fish and vegetables. The corn was cold and was not a good match for the fish.

I waited…and waited…and waited…for our server to come back, so I could tell her I didn’t like my entree. She finally came over, and wanted me to order something else, but I said that would have been a fine solution 20 minutes ago, but not at this point. She asked if we wanted to wrap the sides, I said no they weren’t good, and she took them away. She came back and had taken the swordfish off the bill, rightfully so, but did not remove the sides.

We spent $106 plus tip, and I still had to come home and eat dinner. Not a win.
