This was honestly the worst restaurant i ever visited. The service was mid but not that bad considering our waiter looked tired. The food however was absolutely horrendous. Let me break it down:
1. We started with the Tom Yum soup. When it came there was soup all over the side of the bowl and on the coaster below the bowl, already not a good sign. The soup was tastewise too bland but not bad. However they put not fully ripened tomatoes in it with their insides completely green which really gave the appearance that the tomatoes were moldy inside, which was absolutely off putting for me. I was really expecting a good, comfy and visually appealing Tom Yum soup and was really disappointed.
2. We ordered the Szechuan style chicken. Szechaun style food is my absolute favourite cooking style and I always try to visit a Szechaun restaurant whenever i am traveling, that is to say i love it and was pleasantly surprised to see Szechaun style chicken on the menu. The chicken was horrible, tasted gamey and was not Szechaun style at all, and for the sauce, as hard as we tried we couldnt find the usual and expected Szechuan pepper taste or the hotness usually associated with Szechuan cooking. It was more like a soya sauce even a bit sweet. Horrible! We couldnt have more than a bite.
3. We ordered some spicy squid which was the best of the bunch, the seasoning was great and full of umami flavour and the fried chillies were good, however the squid were extremely greasy. Oil was pouring out of it whenever i had a bite which left an unpleasant mouth feel, I could only have some bite before feeling the oil was too much for me.
Overall the worst restaurant i ever visited in my life and i think the first time i left a restaurant with most dishes barely touched and the eery feeling i lost my time and money and wishing my darnest i went somewhere else instead
Noodles were well seasoned and had a lovely balanced taste, bean sprouts and a nice seasoning of spring onion.
Stir fried vegetables, again not overpowered with seasoning.
The portions are generous and I came away satisfied.
Service was like clockwork, attentive and lighting fast.
I’ve given 5 stars with the caveat that I’d have given maybe 4.8 if I could as the experience was almost perfect let down only by the pineapple.
We are in the cleaning industry so we see t
his . What would the kitchen be like ?
Asked to take what was left home and had to box it up ourselves that I’ve never done before
If I was ever around there agin I would go back just because the food was so nice!
I ordered Singapore chowmain, curry sauce and spring rolls!
A small bottle of beer whilst I waited, the food was out before I was half way through the beer
The ordeal cost me over £20 there were around 3 small prawns and half a sliver of chicken it was mostly bland noodles and watery curry sauce
I used to love this place 5 years ago, wish I had got a pot noodle from teco now
