I purchased a pizza from this Papa John’s location today, and my child bit into a 2-cm metal fragment that was embedded inside one of the slices. The object appears to be stainless steel and is sharp and rigid. This is a serious food-safety hazard.

We have kept the metal piece, the contaminated slice, the rest of the pizza, the packaging, and the receipt. I have already reported the incident to Papa John’s and to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Parents should be aware of this incident. Foreign metal objects in food can cause serious injury, especially to children. I hope the store will conduct a thorough investigation and take immediate corrective action.

The staff is very nice and calm. I was having issue with my order and they made a new one for me.

We ordered XL custom pizza and garlic knots. Both were good and really liked them. Will visit them again.

We recently bought 3 pizzas. All 3 pizzas were supposed to have extra mushrooms and onions. Two of the pizzas had absolutely no mushrooms or onions at all. There were only a few pieces of chicken and steak on them, and we know what extra chicken, mushrooms, and steak look like; we have ordered pizzas from here before. The manager did not allow us a refund or try to help us at all. Do not pay for extra toppings because you will get scammed. Will not be ordering from here ever again.

I have been a loyal customer of Papa John’s for years, often choosing their “Garden Fresh” pizza as a safe, meat-free option. That trust has been completely shattered after my last order.

I specifically ordered a large Garden Fresh pizza, which is advertised as a vegetarian pizza with tomatoes, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and black olives. What I received was a nightmare for any vegetarian.

After a few bites, I noticed a strange, greasy chunk that was decidedly NOT a mushroom or any vegetable. Upon closer inspection and after picking through the toppings in horror, I found multiple pieces of ground beef scattered across my pizza.

This is not a simple “oops, wrong topping” mistake. This is a profound failure on every level:

1. Food Safety & Allergen Breach: Meat is not an allergen, but treating vegetarian dietary choices with this level of negligence is appalling. What if this was a more severe allergy? The cross-contamination alone is a major red flag.
2. False Advertising: You cannot market a pizza as a specific “Garden Fresh” vegetarian option and then have your kitchen staff treat it with such carelessness. It shows a complete disregard for the product description and the customer’s choice.
3. Quality Control is NON-EXISTENT: How does beef end up on a pizza where it has no business being? The person making it wasn’t paying attention, the person boxing it didn’t care to look, and the system failed entirely.
4. Wasted Money and a Ruined Meal: Not only did I have to throw the entire pizza away (once you find surprise meat, your appetite is gone), but I was left hungry, disgusted, and deeply disappointed.

I went back to returnit. No apologies or credit offered.

I really hate to write poor reviews but today’s experience was so disappointing. I picked up a pizza order on my way through for someone who asked me to. The fella there I thought said name so I said the last night anyway he accidentally gave me wrong pizza. I didn’t know till I dropped it off so I called them to let them know and see if they could deliver the original pizza. Spoke to a man on the line and he was very frustrated said he was in the middle of cooking 140 pizzas and hung up on me. So I went up there dropped off the other pizzas and picked up the right one asked for name of person I talked to on phone and one guys said I’m not allowed to answer that you have to ask him and other guys did give his name – I won’t post it on public forum but I wanted to know who hung up on me and was rude as we use this location all the time. No more unfortunately. I was nice on the phone but not nice when I went inside because he could have simply said ma’am I’m sorry. There was no need to hang up on a customer and be rude for his own error. Busy or not. It was unacceptable.

I bought a large pepperoni and mushroom, thin crust pizzas, which was advertised broadly on TV today. When I picked it up, I opened it to check my order.
The pizza maybe had 8 pepperoni rounds(1 inch) and fewer pieces of mushroom. Worse, the tomato sauce and cheese barely covered the crust. In short, frozen pizza from Kroger is much better.

This place is total mass. Very dirty, as you see in pics.
I ordered my pizza and asked not to cut for pick up. Of course they forgot and made me wait for another 15 min.

I have been a customer of this Papa John location for the past three years until this half eaten pepper showed up inside my pizza box (half Cheese and half Pepperoni). My kids had stomach ache after eating the pizza.

Update: Store manager reached out said it was an employee put a bad pepper in my box due to high volume of pizzas coming out from the oven. He offered 25% off for the next purchase.

I see why it’s not even 3.5 stars.
The guy there was very rude!
Papa John’s, you need to train your staff customer service and they have to have an answer for every question!
What does it mean he doesn’t know anything about the app or online!! It’s a pizza place, not math, to learn. The staff have to know everything about the menu, deals and what the pizza contains! He didn’t even know how many toppings in that specific offer!! Doesn’t he cook it!!! Or just being rude to me! Very unprofessional! It was my first and definitely the last time in this location. I even walked out and didn’t order. Owners… u need to do something about it. I’m sure u r losing many customers.

Papa John’s is by far the top pizza place. Their online ordering is the easiest!!!! I have not been on a website as easy to order as theirs. Every step of the way to what time your pizza will be ready is available to you. They don’t charge (if they do it isn’t as much) for garlic butter, ranch, or marinara while EVERY other pizza place does. Papa John’s is winning. Its a good feeling when you don’t have to lose certain condiments due to overcharge.
