Nice place for a quick appetizer and cocktail! We visited for the first time this week to catch a late lunch. The service was good. We started off with a Mojito and a hurricane. I’d recommend both of those drinks. When in doubt, order the empanadas. They tasted really good, but that green sauce that’s served on the side is hot, hot! We were not fans of the Cuban platter, but we would definitely try this place again, though!

My wife and I dined there for lunch on Friday (7/28). It was our first time there. The server was kind, friendly and helpful. My wife ordered the pork chunks while I ordered the Ropa Vieja. The cuisine was excellent! Our daughter is an incoming Freshman at KSU, we’ll definitely return to Papis.

Croquettas were burnt. Cuban sandwich do not utilize Cuban bread. Unfortunately, they utilize potato bread which was highly disappointing. Drove 1 hour to get a Cuban sandwich and ended up getting a sub instead. I’ve been to the papi’s in midtown and it tastes night and day. The owners of this location obviously do not take pride in their food.

First time visiting this establishment today for Mothers Day to change things up. Looking forward to experiencing authentic Cuban food and to enjoy the atmosphere! I would give it a 5 stars if it weren’t for a few things. Before I list those out, I’d like to say the food was simply amazing. Full of bright and bold flavors. The food was better than we expected. What I had issues with: the front door was so loud (squeal) opening and closing it was mind numbing. The baseball game froze and letting the staff attend to the issue I found they never bothered. The music was nice (new and different for us) but the speakers must be busted as the bass sounded horrible – cracking and static sounds with every beat. After awhile it found its way into our constant attention and helped ruin the “atmosphere” we so looked forward to. The staff was good but not great. We ordered the fire balls and waited 15-20 mins to finally be informed they ran out. Imagine our disappointment and empty stomachs growling. I’d say if the owners attended to these issues we would be back to give it another try and will update stars accordingly

Delicious food, the empanadas were awesome, both chicken and beef. They have acrylic in between the booths to allow for better social distancing while you’re there eating, that was what helped us decide to stay and made us feel more comfortable about dining in. The service was really good and fast in spite of being short on staff.

The food was exceptional. Very flavorful and fantastic portions. Meals were made quickly and brought out quickly. Our waiter was very attentive and gave great service.
