The young girl working the register was really nice! Tip her when you go in! The good was great i got a veggie plate and large order of fried green tomatoes only complaint was the tomatoes they were bland but everything else was good. I really loved the flavor of the okra. I will go back and try again

I was thoroughly impressed by the amount of service, the quality of food, cleanliness, and flavor. I have to tell everyone how much preparation goes into the mac and cheese, which I can appreciate. There were 2 men in the restaurant working, and both were focused on the business. We were greeted, and once we received our meal, we were checked on repeatedly and offered refills. We had fried wings, smothered pork chop, collard greens, cabbage, cornbread, mac and cheese, and sweet potatoes. The wings were crispy and well seasoned.
Walking in, you can see into the kitchen where I watched a man wither a block of cheese into a nub. After he finished shredding that cheese, I was surprised to see him start chopping cheese . I was watching and listening to this process. Once he finished with the cheese, he was cleaning and cleaning and cleaning the cheese prep area. I took pics of the food, and all the food was top notch. Service was amazing, the restaurant is clean, the restrooms clean, sweet tea/lemonade fire, food hot and fresh. We will return.
If you don’t like this place, you’re ungrateful and nothing good will come to you.

Today I finally caught Papa Lou Kitchen. I have been trying to catch this spot for 2 years.
I will rate everything on a scale of 1 to 5
Smothered chicken – 5 a little salty but a 5
Cabbage – 5
Cornbread – 5
Mac and cheese – 3.5 – 4 it will give you a familiar taste, When you taste this Mac
Greens – 3 I really didn’t taste the seasoning
Fried Green Tomatoes – 4
Sweet potato mash – 3.5 it has too much cinnamon. I really didn’t taste the All Spice or vanilla in it.
Peach Cobbler – 4.
I will make sure to continue to support this business whenever I am in the area!!

Everyone in the restaurant made me feel so at home!! From the moment I walked in the door. I ordered wings Mac and cheese and collard greens. My wings were cooked to order.. everything was delicious. I also ordered baked chicken and got fried green tomatoes. 10 out of 10!!!

Great and friendly team behind the counter. Was fresh and made to order. The owner took the time to take my order and walk me through all the items they had available and what he was able to make, if I needed. I walked in like 20mins before they made me feel welcomed . 5 star for the fantastic service, keep up the great work. The food was good, but that great service really sold me.

We were extremely pleased with the Restaurants cuisine and service. I promise you, you’ve never had a better fried green tomato!! You get two of you dine-in!! When we arrived to the restaurant the was one guy prepping for A typical Sunday! We were 9 deep they made 1 phone call and in less than 10 minutes,..Papa Lou himself was on the scene and assisting preparing our meals! Now that’s service! for Papa Lou and his team @! They’ve got it on lock!! The food and flavors were awesome!! Thanks Again Papa Lou!! See you Soon!

This was my first visit and the food was just ok. I ordered the fried wings and Mac n cheese. Once I added hot sauce to wings they were good and Mac n cheese was not good. One and done for me.

Writing this review from the parking lot of the establishment. Couldn’t wait to try it after seeing the plate in store. Exceeded my expectation for soul food! I’m pregnant and had been craving soul food. I ordered the dinner plate the consisted of 1 entree and 2 sides. I chose smothered baked chicken, collard greens and white rice. Greens are so tender that even the stems melt in your mouth, very seasoned. I really appreciate that they don’t prepare the greens with pork. The chicken fell off the bone ( scroll for picture). Chicken was soo juicy and flavorful! The staff who helped me were very kind and sweet. I even ate The roll that came with it and I don’t too much care for bread. Will be back for more lunch breaks in the future. Food came quick, I was only waiting for about 5 minutes before my order was being prepared.

I have lived in Fayetteville for 13 years and had no clue about this restaurant. It’s small so I missed it for years. I wish I knew about it sooner. The food was really good. Seasoned great and cooked to order. Plenty of seating and awesome customer service. We’ll be back!!

Wow! This was my first time and what an amazing experience! I was greeted from the door opening and shown all the food choices before I decided to use the kiosk. I sampled my fish, cabbage, fresh green beans, sweet potato mash, cornbread and Arnold Palmer. Listen Linda!!!! Chef Papa Lou you did that! Everything was seasoned well & not overdone. I’ll be back! Kudos!
