Papa John’s on Gay Street in West Chester is a great go-to spot when you’re craving some classic, fresh pizza without the wait. I’ve ordered from here a few times, and the food is always hot, cheesy, and consistent — exactly what you want from a pizza place. The staff is friendly and quick with service, whether you’re picking up or getting delivery. I like that the toppings are generous, and they don’t skimp on the garlic sauce that makes every slice even better. The pepperoni and BBQ chicken pizzas are personal favorites, and the cheese sticks are a must-add to any order. Parking nearby can be a little tight during busy times, but it’s totally worth the short wait for tasty pizza that hits the spot. I ordered a Veg pizza and when I went to pick it up, just before I had reached the app said I had already picked. I told the store manager about it, he shrugged his shoulders and rudely asked “what name”. He found my order. Reached home saw the pizza had a handful of toppings. I had ordered 5 and some pieces did not even have 3 in total!

I paid for an extra garlic sauce that I didn’t get, the pizza was folded over on itself inside the box, and my delivery guy called to say he was here instead of simply knocking or ringing the bell. The call came up as “Frederick, MD” which I wouldn’t have usually answered. I had to ask three times what he was saying. Nobody can perform the simplest of tasks anymore.

Excited to try the new items but when I got it, there was nothing inside of it was just a cheese pizza fold it over with the seasoning on it. I’ll be honest it was pretty good. That’s why I’m giving it like three stars for the food but it’s not what I ordered you can clearly see it’s Philly cheesesteak, I work third shift so places like this to be open is crucial to me and my coworkers because sometimes we need good food hot food. But to receive this for 750 when I can buy a whole medium pizza for 799 is crazy. I think I should get a refund also when going to this establishment at night time, they tell you that you have to pay cash so I ordered online instead because it felt weird to me. They throw a lot of pizzas out. These guys are probably writing off the pizza and taking the cash because they won’t let you use your card and there is no reason why you shouldn’t be able to it’s 2023. So someone of authority should probably go check that out and get your people straight because service is not the best here.

Really bad operation. I asked for the deal on the door. I was told it is not current and I can not have the deal. No manager or qualified personnel was on hand. It seem like the ownership has changed and I will not be returning. I even saw an employee sitting on the curb, then walk in and handle food without washing their hands. Seriously dont eat here.

This location is the perfect example of how to do everything WRONG in customer service. This is now my third time placing an order with them and every time the experience just gets worse and worse and this will definitely be my last. All three times I have ordered and paid for extra garlic sauce cups and all three time they have charged me and not delivery the extra sauce. The last two times I have ordered a 2 liter of soda and both time it was not delivery with the driver telling me at my door it was cancelled from my order. Absolutely no attempt from the store to contact me and offer another type of soda or any explanation. Also this time since they removing the 2 two liters from my order it dropped me below the $40 free delivery minimum and they charged me for the delivery. Again no attempt to contact me and offer something else to be added on to the order so I could still meet that requirement. After my complete disappointment from the last two deliveries, I tried to contact the store manager to relay my experiences on both occasions but this location refuses to answer their phone. Both times I waited 5-10 minutes as they repeated just kept putting on the hold music after every time it would ring and didn’t even bother to answer and ask me to hold. So now with no other resort I have wasted more of my night detailing this horrible experience on here in hopes that no other poor souls give them their money. This place is a disgrace to customer service and basic human decency. It’s apparent from their countless recent 1 star reviews that they have no desire to work on any of these terrible business practices and will continue to provide mediocre chain food with horrendous customer service. Please give your money to one of the many great local pizza shops that actually takes pride in the food and service they provide.
