Gluten Freedom Adventures
I have been reading about how amazing Papa Chops Eatery is for ages, and finally had the chance to try it myself.

I was honestly nervous about coming here—
not because of cross contamination Obviously!
…But becuase I had such high expectations that I didn’t want to be disappointed.
You know, a ‘never meet your heroes’ kind of situation.

Well, Papa Chops far exceeded my expectations and is definitely my hero!
Dinner was delicious!

The most difficult part was deciding what to eat. As a person with Celiac Disease, It’s an overwhelming treat to have the pick of the entire menu .

We shared mozzarella sticks (huge!), fried pickles (ohhh my), mac & cheese, and a nashville chicken sandwich.

The gluten-eating husband still can’t believe how good it all was. And that’s after an entire day of my selfishly planned road trip filled with dedicated-GF only stops!

The dining side of the restaurant is simple but clean and spacious, and the staff was extremely friendly. Can’t wait to go back and try some other menu items.

I love that their food is all gluten-free as it is hard in other cities to find not only good food, but food that is gluten-free. And, the food is filling. I had the Big Papa Burger, and it was very good. (I got mayonnaise on the bun before I took the photo.)

OMG! This place is amazing! I got to eat fried fish and onion rings; something I’ve wanted for a long time. My hubby had the olive burger and fries and they were great too. Portions are large, very filling. The owner is very friendly. Thank you for having an all gluten free restaurant. We will definitely be back.

Wow wow wow and I even got to meet the owner! Gluten-free Everything! Amazing and delicious! After 20+ years of being gluten-free, this is hands down my favorite gluten free place! I had to have as much as my stomach could take! Dill fried pickles are so delicious and I love the ranch dressing! Mozzarella cheese sticks are delicious….chunky marinara sauce but tasty reminds me of a no spice salsa, the onion rings are just chefs kiss! The burgers and breaded chicken sandwich are another must! And to top it off….the Mac n cheese , with gluten-free free bread crumbs! Wow! Just wow! If you get anything, get that!!!! Can’t wait to come back and try more!!! Why can’t these restaurants be everywhere!!! Actually more like… These gluten free, allergy friendly restaurants NEED to be everywhere!!

It’s a large selection gluten free menu, and everything we tried was delicious!! The burger was so good, I didn’t notice the bun! I so enjoyed the onion rings! It was so nice knowing there was no chance I was going to get sick. My family enjoyed it too, and they don’t have a problem with gluten.

BBQ chicken pizza was good. Decent amount of chicken and bacon which was nice! The crust was typical- dry & chewy. Seemed ‘processed’ not fresh. Hamburg tasted good but again the bun was typical – dry. The onion rings were all breading very little no taste onion so would not order those again. There are other items I want to try, love to support local and innovation but biggest turn off the pizza box smelled like cigarette smoke . The staff was super nice!!

Title: A Gluten-Free Haven with Room for Improvement

Rating: 3/5 stars

As someone with celiac disease, it’s a rare treat to dine at a completely gluten-free restaurant like Papa Chops. I was thrilled to finally eat out with my family, especially on Mother’s Day weekend. The food selection was great, and I ordered a variety of dishes, including fish and chips, burgers, and a pork sandwich.

The food itself was good, but the service fell short of expectations. When I went inside to ask for lemon and tartar sauce with my fish and chips, the cashier was surprisingly rude and snippy. She even checked my receipt to see if I had paid for the food, which made me feel uncomfortable, especially in front of my kids. There was also a miscommunication about ranch dressing, which added to the frustration.

Despite the good food, the service issues left a sour taste. With a bit more attention to customer service, Papa Chops could truly shine as a gluten-free destination. For now, I’d recommend it for the food, but with the caveat to be prepared for potential service inconsistencies.

Price: $80 (before tip)

Would I go back? Maybe. I’d like to give them another chance to show me better service.
