Details. Details are everything. I walked in to the Rocklin Panera Bread at 5:50pm on Christmas Eve 2025. The door had a sign that they closed at 6pm. GOT It. We walked it, stepped two feet in the door, only to be greeted by Manager Mercedes which yelled across the front of the entrance with a big helping of attitude, “Just so you know, we will be closing in 10 minutes. Some of us would like to go home too” as she is walking away from the front counter. We never made it past the self service terminals. The look, the attitude, the absolute worst 15 seconds of customer service at one of my favorite restaurants. And, from a Manager. With other employees around watching her “exceptional example”. We never said a word to her. I went to the restroom, asked her name and left. It is sad that I’ve written reviews to always praise individuals who go above and beyond in a tough and sometimes “thankless” environment, only to come across a “manager” who should definitely know better. I’m not going to go so far as to say I won’t go back here, as I’ve read through the 676 Google reviews to see how many others had interactions with Manager Mercedes, but, I will be cautious the next time I visit and warn others to be aware of HER attitude!!! Not professional Mercedes, not professional at all!

This is probably the third time I’ve come to this location and been disappointed. They don’t make their sandwiches with love here. I ordered the chipotle chicken melt and the sandwich looked like it was just slapped together, the avocado was all smooshed on one side. My friend got the blt and look at the amount of mayo they slapped on, they couldn’t bother to spread? When we brought it to their attention the cashier said “well that’s just how we make it”. Unacceptable.

The bread was well-baked, tasted fine, and the portion was reasonable. However, the price has increased significantly in the past few months. There were no people waiting, and the interior was quiet.

This place has quickly become my favorite restaurant. We have the sip club and come here dang near every day. We eat breakfast here once a weekend because it is affordable especially with the 20% off gift card promotions. Mercedes and her staff always give me the best customer service and ask how my family is doing. I hope she sticks around for a long time!

I’ve already had a negative experience at this location back in October in which I called customer service and they resolved. However, upon this visit everything was great up until I tried my salad. I ordered a pick 2 with a chicken Caesar salad and Mac and cheese. When I began eating my salad I noticed the taste was off. It wasn’t tasting how it normally does and was rather bad. I began picking around my salad and then realized that half of the leaves were black, indicating that I was served rotten lettuce. That explained the bad taste. Once again I am rather disappointed and don’t pay that kind of money to receive a salad that I can’t even eat. I don’t complain in restaurant because I don’t know if people are new and don’t know any better.

Great bathrooms, great service, nice outdoor and indoor seating, good amount of parking all around the building, the AC/temperature was perfectly cool for such a horribly hot day in the valley, and as always love the food&drink!

Jonathan was amazing! He greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel welcome right away. He was friendly, efficient, and went above and beyond to make sure our order was perfect. You can tell he genuinely cares about customers and takes pride in his work. The service was quick and the food was great, but Jonathan’s attitude is what made the visit stand out. Panera is lucky to have him!

No matter what city I’m in, I always Google if a Panera Bread is close by. They are consistent with their fresh tasting menu. The best part; I feel full but not weighed down. If the cashier was more personable, I would have given this Panera Bread more stars.
