Modern Bird Travels
A Mixed yet positive Experience at Panera Bread

I recently had the opportunity to visit Panera Bread, and while the experience was largely positive, there were a few areas that left room for improvement.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by a staff member, but I was immediately struck by the entrance, which could have benefited from a quick sweep and tidy. However, this minor issue didn’t deter me from enjoying my visit.

I was excited to try their famous French onion soup bread bowl, which I had specifically sought out. Unfortunately, the website indicated it was sold out, but thankfully, they had it available in-store. The soup was exquisite, with rich flavors and a generous helping of caramelized onions. The bread bowl itself was freshly baked and held up well to the savory broth.

I also tried their creme brûlée seasonal iced coffee, which was a creative twist on a classic flavor combination. While the concept was intriguing, the execution fell a bit short – the flavor lacked presence and could have benefited from a bolder approach.

In terms of pricing, Panera Bread is generally on the higher end of the spectrum, but the portion sizes and quality of ingredients justify the cost.

Overall, I’d give Panera Bread 4/5 stars. While there’s room for improvement in terms of cleanliness and online inventory management, the quality of their food and commitment to using high-quality ingredients shine through. I would definitely return for another visit, especially for that French onion soup bread bowl.

Kudos to Luke for his friendliness.

Panera bread is one of my favorite sandwich shops. They have very fresh bread, meet and cheeses to choose from.
I love their many different sandwich options and they’re different breakfast options also.
They have many pastries that I enjoy for dessert and drinks.
If you haven’t been here before I highly recommend it.

Came in and ordered one item and we were given something completely different. It happened to be my son’s favorite breakfast sandwich (steak and wake)
and we were given some seeded veggie something else. It was the single only thing we ordered and we were given the wrong thing. Came to LA for the weekend (for his birthday) and wanted to grab it on the way out of town. We drove off before we noticed the error but now we have a sad birthday boy. We made a huge deal about stopping to get his Panera sandwich and the one single thing in the bag was not our order. Especially disappointing.

It’s been a while, having visited a Panera location, got a gift card here from a friend and decided to bring the partner, niece and nephew. Ordered – halfsies; Chinese chicken salad, tomato soup w a baguette. Chicken avocado sando with turkey chili, kids size mac n cheese with chips and cheese flat bread. Total came out to about $55 but with the gift card $25 out the door which wasn’t bad for all that food! The customer service was superb, the only thing this location needs to work on is I think people come in and actually steal others food or the workers are not paying attention to who grabs the food. They do hand out vibrating pagers. The only reason why I am bringing this up is clearly this happened to us, when my partner went up to grab our food there was a gentleman that just said yes, his name is “Sara” and took my sando and chili, they had to make another but was kind enough to bring the food over with extra mac and cheese and a cookie for the kids, the manager kept apologizing why do I think this has happened before?

Sent my entire meal back for a refund and went somewhere else. Sent my cold soup back. My $8.58 Turkey Sandwich was 2 three-inch slices of thin bread, two tiny slices of Turkey and that was it. For nearly $18, I expect a lot better than what was served to me. The manager did indicate (frustratingly) that the prices keep going up, and the portions keep going down. Self-serve ordering, take a number service, and picking up your own mediocre food at a counter isn’t worth $18.

This will be my last trip to Panera, and given the fact the restaurant was mostly empty at 12:45 in the afternoon, I don’t think I’m the only one unimpressed.

Ordered a bunch of stuff. Most were ok. Two fruit cups were only half way full. See the picture I took. The restaurant setup is very Panera Bread standardized but there was unpleasant smell when I entered the location.

I got the Baja bowl, my daughter got the grilled cheese add bacon, my husband got the steak sandwich. Everything tasted good and fresh. The place was clean and the Pepsi machine was set just right.

Ridiculously, management manually disabled all wall outlets & the wifi is terrible. If all you’re doing is getting mediocre food/coffee, fine place to go i guess, but they’re failing at the one thing panera is actually good for – being a place you can go to get work done.

Not a good panera branch. The orders came out missing a side and another half a sandwich during a slow time. The staff doubted our claims and took 3 people to understand the orders on our receipt. The strawberries in the salad has frostbite. Panera has a policy of offering a free treat for a wrong order but none was offered.
