100% worth it… 100% delicious…
Jan 2025. So. Last 2 years I had almost Completely Given Up on THIS Glen Burnie Panda Express near my home but took a Chance and ordered to see if anything had gotten better. Past 3 months 2X I actually was pleasantly surprised small portions of meat but food was good and prepared great was hot & fresh. Then last order was not good I actually got sick. This latest time is IT. Burnt Eggrolls. ENTREES DRY ABSOLUTELY *NO SAUCE*. AND DID NOT ORDER CHICKEN WITH 2 LITTLE STRING BEANS. NOT EVEN PREPARED WITH ANY CARE. TASTELESS FRIED RICE. Flavor on entrees although super small portions was JUST ok and Eggrolls tasted ok despite being burnt. The Sesame Chicken they gave me taste like Cotton Candy, breading taste pasty like uncooked dough; no sesame seeds, 2 small green beans and 2-3 pepper pieces on it. As you can see the Teriyaki Chicken was Simply Grilled Chicken ZERO Sauce. And BIG HUNKS of meat Unappealing & Unappetizing Looking. Think that I will no longer be Wasting $$$ @ this particular Panda Express. They’re NOT CHEAP either and who has money to BLOW and just Go Down The Drain keep getting Bad Food like this??? Service was also super Slow 12 noon on a Wednesday! Y’all Need To DO Better. Staff are OK not the best not the worst either. Restaurant’s clean.
First, I noticed cleanliness could be improved. The dining area didn’t seem as tidy as it should be, which made me a bit uneasy. Additionally, the plasticware provided wasn’t covered, raising concerns about sanitation. It’s important for customers to feel confident that the utensils they are using are clean.
I also found the checkout process to be lacking in customer engagement. The staff seemed more focused on quickly completing transactions rather than interacting with customers. A friendly greeting and an inquiry about whether I wanted to dine in would have made a significant difference. Moreover, the request for donations during the checkout felt a bit intrusive, especially when all I wanted to do was make my purchase.
Lastly, I couldn’t help but notice a disparity in portion sizes. It appears
that foreign customers received larger servings, which raises questions about consistency in service. It’s vital for businesses to ensure that all customers feel equally valued, regardless of their ethnicity background.
To top it off, the food was barely warm. Likely to fail a food safety inspection. If this happens again, I will tell them to keep it and refund my money.
Tonight (9 Feb 2026) the owner, or who was assumed to be an owner where a maroon colored sweater, unidentifiable as she was not wearing a Panda uniform/name tag, constantly had her arms crossed and was constantly harassing every move of her employees – again, did not care that she was so disrespectful to EXTREMELY hard working staff in front of clients (and other employees).
She often stood in the corner (near the beginning of the steam tables), just looking for an opportunity to bark at the next employee.
I can only imagine how difficult and stressful it is working in this environment.
This treatment of employees should be a concern to the rights of employees within the State of Maryland.
Understand the need to train and supervise, but “all” people (whether an owner, a staff member, or client) should be respected regardless, and particularly not ridiculed or treated disrespectful in front of clients or their respective teammates.
Also, the owner seemed overly concerned about portions, to the point it seemed employees were so nervous, they reduced portion size to clients.
I used to enjoy this Panda location, but the smaller sized portions and constantly observing what to be disrespect by the owners to their staff in front of clients, makes us want to identify an alternative dining out or takeout option in the area (as it can even be stressful to clients, when watching such levels of supervision over everyday hardworking employees, often making minimal income .
The rice was hard like it was days old. Burnt.
lo mein was nothing great.
The chicken terryaki came with the sauce of the side? And just tasted off. I’ve had this before at another location and the sauce came smothered on the chicken and it was delicious.
The “beef and broccoli” had these sad scraps of “beef” that had no flavor at all.
The star is for the very kind customer service I received when I picked up my to go order. But that’s it. And I’ve been here before about a year ago and had terrible food and terrible customer service. This was me giving it another shot and at least the employees were nice this time.
