** Ordered the fajita burrito and it was good
Chips and salsa were just OK. Chips were fresh, but the salsa tasted like glorified tomato sauce. I believe the salsa is made fresh in the restaurant but it’s missing something, some zest, not alot of spice and the first bowl had one small onion chunk and the rest was just a average watery salsa, no bust cilantro flavor and mild in taste.
I came at dinner time after the rush about 7:30 and there were several couples / families and not overly busy.
I was surprised/a little disappointed that the cheapest entrée was $12.99 for 2 enchiladas and rice and beans, which isn’t terrible but definitely not a deal, but maybe with price increases this is normal.
I ordered the chicken chimichanga. The menu description said it came with cheese sauce, I was expecting a normal white queso sauce but this seemed like the base was more Velveeta or American cheese based, which was good but not what I was expecting or wanting. The chicken had a reasonable flavor to it and bigger chunks not fine Shredded chicken. The chimichanga plate also came with a side of rice and beans, Pico, sour cream, and guac, all of which seemed fresh and quality seemed ok. I feel like portion sizes were also exceptable. I understand this is not going to be authentic Mexican as the Restraunt clearly says “tex-mex,” but I did wish for a little more flavor. Everything was good but on the bland side. I don’t feel like I wasted my money, but this truly is just an average Mexican Restraunt, nothing to write home about.
