Driving around enjoying the nice weather and couldn’t have picked a better place for lunch. Excellent food and very friendly staff! Will definitely be back when we’re in the area!

Great huge restaurant with 50-60s vibes. Elvis is in the building! The service and employees are friendly and efficient. This was our first visit. The fried chicken was excellent. My friend had the beef patty with mashed potatoes & gravy which tasted homemade. There was hot water at the BR sink!! And, finally the parking lot is next to the diner.. it is small if both frooms are full.. We will go again especially when we are camping at Carlyle.

Don’t go here unless you are a local!!! Decided to stop here for breakfast. Walked in at 8:30, was told to sit anywhere but not in the back. No biggie, picked a booth and ordered. People started coming in and sat in the back. A few minutes later, they started bringing food out for the back. Waitress walked past us multiple times and never said a word. After a good 30 minutes after we ordered, we walked out. An acknowledgement from someone is all I would have needed to stay. “Sorry large party in the back” or “Your order should be up soon”, but we received nothing.

Awesome diner food. Great wait staff. Can get loud sometimes. Everyone knows everyone in the town, so if someone comes in, expect table to table talking. Never had a bite of anything that wasn’t amazing. It’s worth the trip everytime.

I LOVE the old time/small diner feel & HAS to have SOMETHING good to eat to have that many people there, still eating at closing time. I’m 100% positive we ordered the absolutely wrong things. I didn’t think there was a way to screw up Breaded Cod Chucks. I assume they are already battered, so it’s a matter of deep frying them. Same with a Hamburger Steak. Form a burger & either bake, broil it, or grill it. However- never in a million years did I ever expect Breaded Cod Chunks to taste like…Cinnamon? Or ever expect to hear the words “this is too salty” to ever pass through my husband’s vocal cords. The hamburger steak really threw me for a loop because the menu states that regular burgers are “handmade”, so I thought the same to be true for the Hamburger steak. Man, was I wrong! It was more equivalent to a frozen patty from a box of frozen burgers from Walmart & the top of the salt shaker came off as it was applied, then placed in front of a fan to blow the excess off, knowing there was still a good 6 Tablespoons that had already soaked in. We will go back, based on reviews & recommendations from friends – we will just look to see what everone else is ordering & follow suit. At that time, I will definitely update this. But until then – all I have is my 1 time of eating there, sooo here it is.
