Social Profile:

It wouldn’t be called a fish camp if it weren’t bringing in the Bay’s local fish everyday. Not only do we have fresh seafood, but accompanying Southern Classics with a great Craft Beer and Wine selection. Our friendly staff strives to match the delicious food with exceptional service to assure your visit to Owen’s Fish Camp is second to none. Located in the heart of Burns Court in Downtown Sarasota, Owen’s Fish Camp is an ode to old Florida living. From the looming Banyan tree out front, given to Sarasota developer Owen Burns by Thomas Edison, to the tire swing out back, it is a restaurant full of history and Southern Hospitality. Sorry, but we DO NOT accept reservations.

Bustling locale serves up imaginative takes on seafood dishes amid eclectic decor.

We dined at Owens for the first time on a recent trip to Sarasota. The atmosphere is very lively, a little too loud for our liking but not unbearable. We were sat at a cozy table within 15 minutes of arriving. Cassidy was our server and was spot on without missing a beat! The food was very well priced, hot and flavored well. No complaints! My husband was skeptical at first living in Florida to us, it looks like a “tourist trap” but we were pleasantly surprised. I recommend and will be back!

Owen’s Fish Camp is an awesome place for fresh fish in Sarasota. Everything they make in house and from scratch. Even the green beans were delicious, which I wasn’t expecting. I ordered the Scamp, pan seared with lemon caper butter (you can see the giant capers in the butter which was awesome). The fish and chips with fries are exceptional. Rarely, do we order dessert. However, they said they had apple pie. It was devine. It was like a personal apple pastry with a flaky crust and with actual fresh apples. Worth it! Great experience as always and the staff is exceptional.

I have been wanting to go to Owen’s Fish camp since our last trip to Sarasota and what a bonus to be able to try the Lakewood Ranch location. First off, I get that everyone hates long waits for a table but let me tell you, it is well worth the wait! Starting with the food, service, atmosphere and all that good stuff…only one word comes to mind and that is PHENOMENAL! Don’t wait any longer, RUN! It’s too incredible to sit on the fence! Highly recommended and we will definitely be back again!

Amazing place to spend a few hours. We got there and waited for our table in their back patio. They provided drinks, appetizers, and music while you wait. We had some amazing roasted oysters. Once you get the table, you can’t go wrong with the seafood boil or fish and chips!

Isabella was a wonderful waitress! She was attentive and knew her menu. Although the Jambalaya was not what I was used to, she provided great alternative suggestions and was very accommodating. The garlic snails were delicious. It has a similar taste and texture to mushrooms. The catfish was fresh and crisp and the greens were great! I will return to try more items on the menu

I was visiting friends who took me to this awesome seafood place. The rustic charm is the feeling you get living down south and feels welcoming and friendly. Our waitress, Bree? who moved from Delaware was awesome, funny, and great with recommendations. My recommendations are blackened scamp (type of fish similar to cod) with dirty rice, fried green tomato salad, and Mississippi mud pie!

Had a great time hanging out in the backyard waiting for our table listening to some live music. They have a setup out back for drinks and appetizers in a nice setting. Table ready and in we went for dinner. Everyone enjoyed themselves and their dinner choice. Arrive early and enjoy the wait.

This place is such a gem in downtown Sarasota. My family and I all went out to celebrate an occasion. We had a great time! The wait was quite long for an indoor table, but that was to be expected. They also won’t seat you until everyone in your party arrives. Also to be expected, but just a heads up!
