Really excellent value for what you get. Great portion sizing-even if you order just a single portion of nigiri it is easy enough to split between two people. Order the Squid tempura, especially good value and a crowd pleaser. Service was great too-took care of us without hovering and were happy to let me sit by the chefs window after I ate. Had a 90$ date night after a strong tip where we felt like we really “balled” out-not something I could say many places

Such a lovely restaurant! We went at around 4pm and sat outside. Pleasant atmosphere. Sushi and sashimi were fresh and delicious. I love the ama ebi! Our server was friendly and attentive.

The food at Origami was tasty— the udon and sushi were great in flavor and presentation. The best part of the restaurant was the overall ambiance and vibe of it. I can tell that a lot of thought went into the decorations and aesthetics. However, I thought that the service was sub-par. My boyfriend and I went on Valentine’s day, and the particular server we got was cold and dismissive in her demeanor. I’m not at all picky when it comes to service, but I felt demeaned and disrespected. There was a point that she filled up our water to the point that it overflowed and it spilled everywhere— only for her to walk away. She most likely did not notice, but I was left to clean the spill because I did not want to cause a scene. We observed that she treated the other patrons better, and I’m not sure if it was the fact that my boyfriend and I were the youngest couple there, or if she was just having a “bad day”. Regardless, I tried not to let it bother my date night. I hope that she is able to reevaluate her attitude and better any biases she feels towards younger adults dining in. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a charismatic, hip Japanese restaurant to eat at, but I would not come here if you are younger looking for more sophisticated and modern dining. If you are looking for better value sushi and Japanese dishes (and it is all you can eat), I would rather spend my money at Kyoto Sushi. Potentially, I would love to revisit this restaurant, but only when I’m a couple of years older.

I went here with my girlfriends after we all saw the Barbie movie on the weekend it came out and the service was excellent! Fabulous recommendations on food and drinks and everything tasted amazing! Highly recommend becoming well-versed in sake here as well as the lychee martinis and sushi! Ample portion sizes and very reasonable prices for the quality. Come here and enjoy your evening in Uptown!

Went here for dinner, the table we where seated at was upstairs, and although we had been the only people seated there we did not get forgotten about. Super cute place, delicious and fresh food, pleasant atmosphere. I went with my sisters but came home and suggested my son take a date there. Definitely looking forward to going back!

Great sushi spot nestled in a nice little corner of uptown. My favorite thing to get each time I go is definitely the tempura ice cream, which is essentially a giant deep-fried ball of goodness (and the tempura tastes like cake!). There’s a bean in the center of the ice cream which can be an off-putting surprise the first time you try it, but I’ve come to appreciate finding it.

I am definitely a returning customer and for just one reason… It’s just consistently a great meal. It has not missed yet and I’ve been here multiple times now. Every time I sit down and eat here it just keeps solidifying why this is one of my go-to sushi places.
