For food, the spicy tuna & tamago (maitinated egg) onigiri are my favorites. The miso soup is sooo hearty I find myself craving it and picked radishes are also fantastic.

I don’t say this lightly when I say: Ooika holds the highest standard of matcha I’ve ever experienced.
Every sip was exceptional—balanced, smooth, vibrant—and somehow left me craving more even after I two. That almost never happens. You can feel the care, the intention, and the respect for tradition in every cup.
Amazing Allergy experience:
What made this experience truly special for me, though, goes beyond taste. I have a severe milk allergy, and because most places use shared milk frothers, I’ve never been able to order a hot latte safely. At Ooika, I could—for the first time—order a hot matcha latte without fear. Their allergy awareness is impeccable. I also have a nut allergy, and the level of care, communication, and consciousness in the kitchen instantly put me at ease. That kind of thoughtfulness is rare—and deeply appreciated.
I planned to stay for one hour.
I stayed for two.
The space itself is incredibly zen, calming, and grounding—the kind of environment that invites you to slow down and actually be present. They authentically show the process of making their Matcha, in special machines outlining their interior.
Adding another layer of magic: my favorite vegan restaurant in New Hope, Pennsylvania—Sprig and Vine—sadly closed in 2025, and the incredibly talented Ross, chef and owner, is now the collaborating chef behind the scenes at Ooika. Thus collaboration feels like lightning in a bottle. You can taste the talent and creativity in what they’re producing together.
I tried one dessert—the Red Bean Mochi pastry—and wow. Truly wow. Not too sweet, just the amount of sweetness. Real ingredients , worth every coin!
I almost hesitate writing this review because I don’t want it to sound like I’m being paid or sponsored in any way. No one asked me to write this. I wasn’t comped, bribed, or incentivized. This is a 100% genuine review born purely out of gratitude and awe.
I cannot stress enough how special Ooika is.
If you haven’t been yet, you need to go.
It’s a hidden gem in Princeton, and I genuinely cannot wait to return.
This is genuinely the best matcha experience I have ever had in my entire life. You can tell that everything is ground and made in house. And controversial opinion, oat milk only is the greatest thing I have ever heard walking into a cafe.
