This was our second time at the onion after several years to try to give it another chance after our first experience. I’ll start with saying the staff seemed really kind – that wasn’t the issue at all.

I don’t like cucumber so I chose a roll specifically that didn’t have them (or it wasn’t listed), and my fiancé has a food intolerance to bamboo shoots. He asked for his without bamboo shoots, and I didn’t see a need to ask for sushi without something that wasn’t listed.

Almost every other sushi option except maybe three had cucumbers so it was pretty limited.

I never complain about food or even mention it unless it’s just something that I don’t eat. In this case it was at least half the roll, and the flavor of cucumber was overpowering and I just could do it. So I asked for clarification. We also just ignored that his had bamboo shoots because he could just eat around them.

I was told that by default that all the sushi rolls just come that way, so I asked for a to go box thinking my fiancé may want it the next day. I could overhear our waitress talking to someone about it behind us. The manager or maybe owner came up with the check and said that they would make it that way next time if I asked for it. When I pulled up the menu, she said that they ran out of room for printing. I said that it was pretty dangerous to do that because of food allergies, and honestly thinking about it that doesn’t make sense because several of the options had two rows of descriptions with things listed. I would’ve been totally satisfied with what was originally listed in the roll, remaking it, but the addition of cucumber was something I couldn’t get past.

Regardless, we ended up paying and just leaving. I have no intentions on going back and I write this just as a forewarning. If you have food allergies, intolerances, or just don’t like a certain food – it’s a gamble on what you’ll get.

This place is the ABSOLUTE best spot I have ever been to. I have been coming here for years and the food is always excellent. The sushi especially is always incredible.

The staff here is also very friendly and accommodating.

Finally after these years the owner asked us to take a picture for the wall of fame, Lucky us

Ordered over the phone. Helped me find what I was looking for on the menu I was looking at on my phone and even took the modification for the sushi roll (California Fried Shrimp Roll) which was to make it somewhat spicy. Told me 20 and the rice was hot when I got there and when I got home for my fried rice. One of the best I’ve had in Indiana which I find hard. 10/10 would recommend this place. Probably going back for another roll.
(The rice is darker than what they gave me because I like extra soy sauce :p)

We went for lunch after doing some Christmas shopping. They have a lunch menu from 11am to 3pm. The food was all good. We tried a couple of soups we hadn’t had before. My husband got the egg drop soup, not a big fan, it seemed too oily, he did like it more once he added the wonton strips. I got the wonton soup, it was really good. He ordered the shrimp with garlic sauce, which came with steamed rice, an egg roll, and steamed vegetables. I ordered the General tsos chicken with fried rice, peppers, carrots, and sauce along with an egg roll. Our daughter ordered the udon noodles with chicken minus the vegetables. It ended up being comparable to chicken noodles. She also ordered the strawberry milk tea (without the boba). She loved the drink. One last thing we ordered lol was the Derby roll. It was delicious!! Overall, the food was fantastic. The milk tea was surprisingly good (and only a couple dollars more than ordering a soda). The sushi was perfect! The waiter was very friendly and talkative. They also had a robot that delivered food to tables and took empty plates. I was not successful in getting a video of it, but it seemed pretty cool! We’ll probably try again another time to try a rice bowl! Ok, one last thing, they had 2 sauces at the table, sweet and sour sauce and a spicy mustard. The spicy mustard was spiiiiiiiiiiiicy!!! If you like heat, try it (in small portions).

I don’t know how this place doesn’t have a higher rating?! I ordered delivery from here and we all know how that usually goes. When it got here the bag was HEAVY and piping HOT! The portion sizes are amazing and I have enough to feed a family of 3. Also a huge selection of vegetarian and vegan options including fried cream cheese roll which is my favorite! As a transplant from a state that has a huge vegan population this restaurant can definitely compete. I will be ordering from here again

I’ve been going here for around 15 years. It seems like a little hole in the wall place, but the food is so amazing and the prices are good. The portions are very large. I love their hot and sour soup. They have the best bobba teas and hot teas around! I highly recommend this place to everyone! I’ve attached pictures of what we had. Governor’s Chicken, Double Fried Noodles with Chicken and Pork Dumplings. The drink was Mango Bobba Tea (non milk based). They also have American Entrees. For our kids we got chicken nuggets and fries. They had Cheeseburgers, chicken tenders and grilled cheese as well.

On a side note: They have been short staffed like the rest of our nation trying to get people to work. So be patient with them.

Side note 2: When I went on 3/25/22 I was their first customer and they gave me free doughnuts! They’ve giving me extra things before becuase that’s just how great they are.

Looks are deceiving. Outside looks rundown. Inside is very dated. No one was inside eating when we sat down. Ordered crab ragoons which was good. Egg rolls nothing special.
Order beef bulgogi and was not like moms. Nothing special but good food.

Their teriyaki shrimp and bulgogi was delicious, especially the kimchi in the bulgogi. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and their recommendations were amazing. Me and my friend had a great time!

Great place to grab some Chinese food and bubble tea! The bubble tea is served in these really big mugs, and is enough reason alone to come! I will say, the tapioca we had in one of the glasses was kind of strange textured (not the normal chewy circular stuff your used to), but it was still good.
The meal was great and the price was good as well. The atmosphere of the place was good and overall I’ll definitely be back!
