Great find!
Lively place with excellent service and helpful, loyal, regular customers. Another group shared their table to help us seat a group of five. Then they began to tell us everything we needed to know about the place.

Service was excellent and the food was just as excellent. The bread for the po’boy sandwiches was the best I’ve had outside of New Orleans.

A dive bar with an unmatched local flair. Will definately return if we are in the area.

My husband and I recently moved to a near by area. We had been searching for a dive bar with great food since relocating. Today we made a grocery run, and saw The French Quarter off Manchester. We had noticed a couple times before it was always busy. So on a whim, we tried it for lunch. O.M.G.!!!! Hallelujah THIS is the dive bar and vibe we have been looking for. The food is outstanding. We had a burger and the brisket sandwich with fries and onion rings. Chef’s kiss! The onion rings were so good we had to order some more. Nicole was the bartender/waitress and doesn’t know a stranger. She is a gem, and I am so happy we found this place.

Here’s a NED-style review for Bones French Quarter:

✅ What Works Well
– Southern comfort food with a Cajun/Creole twist—think fried chicken, seafood, and po’boys.
– Lively, casual vibe that fits the French Quarter energy.
– Generous portions with bold, satisfying flavors.
– Friendly, laid-back service and quick turnaround.
– Good spot for a filling meal before or after exploring the Quarter.

What to Watch Out For
– Limited seating—may feel cramped during peak hours.
– Not ideal for fine dining or quiet meals.
– Menu leans heavy—less for health-conscious or light eaters.
– Can be hit-or-miss depending on time of day and crowd.

Verdict
Bones French Quarter serves up bold Southern flavors in a casual, no-frills setting—perfect for a quick, tasty bite in the heart of New Orleans.

First, I am full blooded Cajun, as if the name didn’t give that away. We came here for lunch. I had the gumbo and the rue was super thick but very flavorful. It did have okra in it and they saiteed the sausage first which added a wonderful flavor and texture. The hubby had crawfish tales and they were crunchy and not fishy at all. They tasted fresh and flavorful. My MIL had a burger and it was a little overly cooked and dry. Now they do have some of the best roumalaude sauce I’ve ever tasted.

We ate on the patio and the atmosphere was perfect.

Nicole was our server and she was professional and very personable. We loved her.

I highly recommend this place.

This is the absolute best hole-in-the-wall. Nicole T literally runs this place like a boss. She not only killed it behind the bar, but helped every table. The food was amazing, the atmosphere even better. If you’re tired of bad service, this is the place.

Great cajun food and service. Dive bar feel on the inside with a nice covered patio on the side. We had a coupon that made this a great deal. EDIT: They DO NOT allow smoking on the patio. Also, the service can sometimes be slow when they are busy as there are usually only a few servers/bartender.

Great dive bar in St. Louis with good service, nice people and laid back vibe. Where else can you get Abita beer and fried alligator poboy in STL?
