Asked Reddit what the dirtiest dive bar in Altoona was to go to while me and my husband were here for Adventureland all weekend, they said Old Towne Tap and it did not disappoint when we watched a roach crawl across the bar honestly was a 10/10, we love a good dirty dive. Perfect for an in an out drink! Bartender working Saturday night was very nice; tip her good!

Great little nook for a drink with a friend on a weekday. Just had a quick drink. No food. Excellent service and friendly bartender. Did sir in the back area where they have karaoke on the weekends. Could use some love in that area and some cleaning. Overall, love this little place. Will be back!

I’ve been here quite a few times in the last couple of years. I would say it’s the best small-town bar in Altoona, hands down. It’s like going to a small community bar, but you’re in the greater DSM area.
Great people and friendly staff. The “Regulars” are always willing to start up a conversation. If you want a good time out any day of the week but don’t want to go to a club or “meat market,” then this bar ranks in my top 5 in Polk County.
