I’ve been coming here since I was a kid…so so many memories of birthdays, anniversaries and even holidays. It’s just quintessential New England and Cape Cod! I don’t think we’ve ever had a bad meal, and the service is always impeccable. They do lobster dishes at the highest level, their clam chowder is pretty good (I’m a snob about it, and there is better locally), and their meat dishes are always off the hook. I had the prime rib special and it was utterly perfect. Really nice wine menu too. As long as you’re okay with the prices, you’ll leave incredibly happy!

This is such a gorgeous restaurant! The decor and fireplaces are beautiful. We sat in the red room, which only has a few tables. The service was attentive and friendly and the food was great! My steamed lobster was particularly delicious! We enjoyed hearing the ghost stories too, a quirky and fun touch!

Fantastic old inn with excellent food! They have a special from 4 to 6 that includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The lobster bisque is a must try…the best we have ever had! Could have just had a large bowl and been happy! We also tried the pear, goat cheese and endive salad. Enough of both appetizers to share and both delicious. The salmon entree was the best my wife has had, and she always orders salmon! That says a lot. I had the shrimp scampi/angle hair pasta and it was delicious. They bring warm bread which is great for soaking up the butter/wine sauce. Had no room for dessert, so we got some to go. Tiramisu and creme Brule. They were both just so-so. No big deal, the meal was delicious and well worth the price. Highly recommend trying them and definitely recommend the lobster bisque!

It’s an old fashioned restaurant set in an old carriage stop established in 1696. They serve old fashioned New England staples in a fairly formal atmosphere. Braised ribs were excellent. Scallops seemed to be precooked and just slightly warmed up. Chicken breast from kids menu was literally coals. Food came quickly. Service was warm.

The Old Yarmouth Inn was absolutely incredible. We were visiting the Cape from NY and this was hands down the best dining experience we had all week. The menu was a good size but with a great variety and reasonable prices for the quality of food. The servings were huge and beautifully plated. Finally some place offering more than just fried seafood and fries! Our server Shannon was so friendly and attentive and made our experience even better. There was an incident outside that actually shut the restaurant down for a while but we waited it out and we are so glad we did! After the wait food came right out, hot and ready to go. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Never been more frustrated with a dining experience. We had called to make a reservation they told us they had 4:30 available and then asked if we could be there for 4:15, it was 3:50 but we rushed to make it work. We were hit with a musty antique store smell the second we walked in and had to wait for the host to even acknowledge us as she took a lengthy phone call about how they made baked lobster after a few minutes of waiting she let us know she would be right with us, not a problem. She then continued trying to explain it to who ever was on the phone and finally had to put her on hold to seat us. We were sat quickly and the waitress asked if we had been there. I told her no and she insisted to explain the menu to me. He way of doing this was reading the headings of each page like I was stupid. Wine, dinner, specials ect. Not talking about them just reading me the title, not addressing the male at the table just me like I couldn’t read. I felt like this was only going to get worse so we left before ordering. I let them know we were all set but they didn’t even ask why we were leaving. It felt very out of touch and I felt very talked down to.

HISTORIC INN DELIVERS FANTASTIC DINING EXPERIENCE – dinner for 6 people at the Old Yarmouth Inn recently was such a great experience, set in this building built in the 1600’s, it’s just so cozy and charming. Food was awesome, and worth also noting a very reasonable award wining wine list (read cheap here) as noted by Wine Spectator! FOOD – it’s always a popular spot with locals and visitors, so best to reserve for some sensational high end offerings and specials locally sourced SERVICE – all the staff were great, very attentive, topping up our water, offering refills etc made us feel really at home – so thank you! BOOZE – half the table started with cosmopolitans, and were more than happy with them, wine by glass list is really impressive and I cannot stress how reasonably priced they are, best value I have seen on the cape honestly! AMBIANCE – COZY, CHIC, HISTORIC, just really lovely place to be. recently dined at the Old Yarmouth Inn and I was blown away by the delicious food and attentive service. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. SUMMARY Overall, I had a fantastic dining experience at the Old Yarmouth Inn and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food and excellent service. The inn is a true gem and a must-visit for anyone in the area.

First visit. We chose it because it is midway between Falmouth and Harwich. We had a 4:30 reservation and we’re glad we did. By 6 the restaurant was full on a Tuesday.

In principle, it is a pity to have to write such a review, but I think it can be helpful for one or the other.
