That was OJ’s Diner. Just Good Food for me. This meal was so delicious that it actually sang to my soul. The Motown music playing was an added plus.
I got turkey and dressing with mac & cheese, some black-eyed peas, and turnip greens. So well-seasoned! I know you’re probably going to ask “where’s the gravy?” I didn’t need any. The turkey was moist and the dressing was super flavorful on its own. And, the cornbread was definitely not an afterthought. I’ve been to other places where the cornbread is usually super dry and inedible. Not the case here…moist and full of butter.

The food was amazing. The problem is I got in and started ordering stuff and then there’s another station where you can order more stuff than another station where you can order more stuff. I ordered more than my stomach could handle and I ordered things my eyes just saw and wanted. The fried flounder was very good but not enough fish. The better was very tasty. The dessert station looked marvelous but I was strong enough to resist. The price was fabulous.

I came to eat and ordered a 3-vegetable plate not realizing that it was only $3.50 more for a meat &3 so I asked to get a meat and was told no. I couldn’t add a meat for the difference, even though I hadn’t even sat down to eat yet. HORRIBLE SERVICE BY MANAGEMENT TO PAYING CUSTOMERS!!! I should have the right to change my mind and add meat. This is my FIRST AND LAST TIME HERE!!!

I just wanted to brag on Mary.. She is the absolute best waitress I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. As soon as she sees me, she has my table ready with the sweet in a Togo cup. She has remembered everything I’ve asked for since Day one. Most of the time she’s the reason I come in there. Shes always smiling, so kind and a joy to be around. The food is always great and the environment is very friendly. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.
