My wife and I ordered the beef brisket sandwiches. The brisket was incredibly fatty and flavorless. Small portion and half of the meat was fat! Gross! My wife’s side was beans – it looked like refried beans. gross! My side order was coleslaw – flavorless. This place was the worst barbecue I’ve had in a long, long time! What a disappointment! Yuck! And $18 for a quart of potato salad? C’mon man.

I bought a pound of pulled pork to go from this location inside of the Crestwood Schnucks this past weekend. The pork was moist and smoky, no complaints. It was priced at about $19 for the pound and I left a $2 tip. When I got home, I saw that they had charged me an additional $0.95 Delivery Fee. My wife went back and asked about it and was told because I ordered carryout, they had to put it in a box, fee was for the box. IMO, this is ridiculous. Packaging should be included in the cost. I’m not a fan of these hidden charges, not sure if I will return.

Salt+Smoke has some of the best brisket around. We’ve ordered out twice in the short time they’ve been open and it has been incredibly delicious both times. Pretty reasonable pricing for upscale BBQ, too. Really, really nice addition to my Schnucks!

I chase good barbecue. I was a little sketchy when I saw them in a grocery store. However, we had the briskets and ribs and found both to be tender succulent and well seasoned with a really good smoke ring. Top notch.
