We came to Ocean Buffet in Virginia Beach last minute, and it ended up being one of the best buffet experiences we’ve had. They even allowed us to walk around and check everything out first, which already made a great impression.
Right away, we noticed how many options they had compared to other buffets. The crab selection was impressive, with crab legs, blue crab, and horseshoe crab all available. When I saw dragon fruit in the fruit section, I knew this buffet was on a different level.
Their seafood boil was amazing and tasted just like a seafood boil restaurant, except it was all you can eat. Everything was fresh, the staff was super kind, our waitress was quick with refills and clearing plates, and the owner herself was very welcoming and open to hearing ideas for improvement.
10/10 experience. We will definitely be coming back regularly.

I loved the fresh seafood. I specifically liked the roast duck, the flavor of the Cajun sauce with mussels, crawfish, and shrimp, as well as the steamed flounder. I would say it was worth it for me at a price of $26.99 for this Sunday buffet. The only thing I missed were a variety of beef dishes although there was beef broccoli. Will be back here again when I have a good appetite.

I ate here about a month ago for lunch and really liked the spot. Thought it was great for their Lunch prices. So I went back last night for the dinner and to check out the crablegs. They were busy and it’s obvious they couldn’t keep up. The sushi station was empty when we first arrived. And I got not 1 single crableg. They was bringing out 1 pan of crablegs like every 15 minutes and they were gone in seconds. I checked back about 4 times and each time the tray was empty. The bathrooms were nasty but it’s probably because they had no one available to clean during the dinner rush. My waiter was handling a whole entire side of the restaurant which gave us a good wait time to get our check and go. But his customer service was really great! I don’t know if they were just shorthanded last night but I paid crableg prices and didn’t get what I paid for.

Everything very fresh and good. Huge variety of food, not expensive and very much worth the money! SN: I’m very picky and there was only my one thing out of 3 plates that I didn’t care for and that was the texture not flavor. Will be returning

This is probably the cleanest, best staffed, best stocked, most well balanced, and most appealing buffet I’ve been to in the area. It’s colorful, bright, upbeat, staff is very friendly and positive. Everyone in the staff is well kept and the restaurant is kept clean. The most important thing though is that it includes a hibachi, and that all the food is fresh and tastes fantastic. My new favorite spot, will be coming here again for sure.
The only recommendation I would make is they lower the music volume some. But you are so happy you barely even notice it.

This was my first time here and I was not disappointed…with the food or service. The wait staff was attentive and personable. I will say I’m annoyed at the 3% upcharge for paying with a debit/credit card. Not many people are carrying cash these days, so I find that to be an unfair ploy to charge more. The price is already $13+ per person. However, I did find the food options to be great, especially the sushi. There were items I have never seen or heard of… that I found fascinating! Everything I tried was really good.

The quality of some items might not be that great, so just choose the ones that you like or that are fresh. I will definitely frequent them more often.

This was our second buffet we tried in the area and we loved almost everything. The food was great and service was amazing. However the music in the restaurant dos not match the vibe. Reminded me of a funeral viewing to say the least. I don’t think classical music and buffet go well together. Other than that, the food was great, it was clean, and service was good too. I wish they had soft serve machine but there were ice cream choices available so can’t really complain. The sushi wasn’t the greatest but all the hot food was pretty good. We’ll definitely be coming back.

I ate at this restaurant yesterday, and I was highly impressed by the staff as well as the food. I feel like something should be done to advertise what they offer besides just seafood. As someone who is allergic to seafood, I was skeptical about going, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a variety of food, such as General Tso’s chicken, beef and broccoli, egg drop soup and many other Asian cuisine stables. All of the food was fresh and was constantly being replaced to ensure that freshness.
The price is also super affordable compared to the amount of options you have to choose from. I love that they have an ice cream and frozen dessert cooler as well.
10/10 I will definitely be coming back soon.

The crab legs are small and overcooked, and I was (personally) unsatisfied with the taste of most of the options of food, you may have different taste than I do but, the watermelon wasn’t ripe, the crab legs were bending but not breaking, very expensive for what they had. The staff was very polite and friendly, but the food was just not to my liking. Overall, just look around first, see if there is anything you like on the menu, and decide what’s for you.
