Amazing food and super nice folks! You can’t go wrong with any of the food items. The jerk chicken was flavorful and the plantains were so juicy. Also really loved the fried yuca and sauce. We’ll definitely be back!

The dark meat jerked chicken (thigh and leg) is juicy and tender. Mildly spicy with a fresh lime undertone. With the rice, plantains, and stir-fry, it is almost too much for 1 person—but I persevered! (I’ve had it twice now in 2 weeks.) The empanadas were crispy and delish, and the cabbage mix/salad that came with it was a surprise taste treat—I wished there were more! And you can’t go wrong with a shrimp taco. Anyway, a new go-to when I’m in Austin.

Flavorful food that packs a punch! My mouth is singing with spices! We had the jerk chicken and the coconut shrimp chimichurri… so good and great portions! Love the colorful vibes. Great smiles. Outdoor seating with cooling mist during the sunset. Highly recommended!

Delicious!! Found using Google Reviews and everything we read was true. Flavors were great! Staff was super friendly. Allergens were clearly listed. We had the quinoa jerk chicken bowl and the yuca bowl with chicken (instead of beef). When you visit, definitely grab a drink at the inside bar — this is a great all around experience!!

Prior to eating here I have had some of the best authentic Island foods. This place is the most legit one I have seen on the mainland. The owner and his wife are super sweet, very helpful and oh boy can he cook some food. This place was a true find and highly recommend. If you haven’t tried Island fare, this is definitely the place to start and if you are craving tastes and flavors of island food, this will certainly satisfy that need! Cannot say enough about the absolute perfection and balance of flavor. I had jerk chicken, the goat curry , fritters and plantains w rice. All were absolutely some of the best I have had. Will not disappoint. Get there early to make sure they do t run out. This truck is definitely worth a trip!

Lord have MERCY! Take this from a Houstonian, if you want some real flavor in Austin, take your butt to Nyam Sunshine Cuisine. You will not find a more consistent food truck with bigger portions anywhere else. If you can finish a plate in one sitting, I salute you, but if you use the Guava BBQ sauce with the Jerk Chicken, I don’t salute you

Delicious food! The corn fritters and Austinite taco were tasty, and the bright outdoor setting is so nice. The location is next to a coffee shop that has fancy drinks and alcohol. Felt like being on vacation. ️

Unfortunately, they were out of the corn fritters, and goat curry when we came, but everything we tried was amazing! We had the jerk chicken, yea mon, and the coconut shrimp. The jerk chicken had some real good season and spice to it, the plantains were soft and sweet which was a nice compliment to the spice of the jerk chicken. The tang of the mango Chile salsa with chimichurri on the coconut shrimp was perfect. The yea mon was not too spicy the bun was crisp and the Cole slaw and aoili mayo made the sandwich very well balanced. My only complaint is I’m too full now because it was too good to stop eating! Will definitely be back!!!

I am always looking for healthy plant based options when dining out. Nyam Sunshine Cuisine had several options, I tried the Jasmine rice and Salvadorian red beans with some stir fried veggies. So good!! Great prices and generous portions, I highly recommend…. they have plenty of meat options for the carnivores. 🙂
