Looking for a new experience in Rochester, my wife, 20 year old grandson and myself ventured to Novels off main Street to see what the 5 star buzz was all about. What we found was a delightful bookstore with a small kitchen in the back that provided unique sandwiches in a cozy family setting. Both Rachel and Elliot, the owners, were truly engaging, conversive and attentive with their customers, something extremely rare in today’s society. The chicken noodle soup is a must have. As you can see, the sandwiches can be easily shared by two and totally satisfying and flavorful. This is a wonderful addition to the downtown area of Rochester that was sorely needed and definitely 5 star buzz worthy

I went into this super cute shop today and was welcomed by a warm greeting and smiling faces! The employees were so kinda and funny! The recommendations for food was amazing and the sandwich (the vegetarian) was DELISH!! I even got a pastry that was absolute heaven! You can definitely find a good book while you wait for you food, they have everything anyone could want to read! Definitely will be returning! So glad this place exists!!

This place was adorable. This was our first time in there. The whole vibe was awesome. I can’t wait to go back and sit in there on a snowy day with a latte. We had drinks and sandwiches, which were so good. I loved my vegetarian one. The cheese was delicious from the cheese lady. The spot was so nice. It reminded me of the movie sleepless in Seattle. They had cool puzzles too!

If you’re searching for a phenomenal bookstore, a slay sandwich, & great customer service then look no further! Traveled 1 hr just to come here. Sandwiches are a 12/10 (ask for the Elliott you’ll thank me later). You’ll never meet nicer people. They even have a blind date with a book wall! Can’t say enough about this place, will definitely be back!

Such a cute shop! They have a lot of stickers and popular books for all ages. The Italian sandwich was delicious. The oil/dressing on it was SO good. The latte definitely could have been sweeter and the cup was a little odd but eco friendly. I’ll definitely be back!

The food is on an entirely different level. I’ve tried several items, and they are all 10/10:
The Mortadella Truffle: Pure decadence. The truffle is perfectly balanced and elevates the mortadella beautifully.
The Roast Beef Chimichurri: Bold, zesty, and incredibly fresh. The house-made chimichurri adds a bright kick that makes this a standout.
The Turkey Caprese: A classic, elevated with high-quality ingredients. It’s light, flavorful, and hits the spot every time.
Beyond the food, the storefront is impressively clean and organized, which makes browsing the bookshelves even more enjoyable. The staff is also some of the friendliest I’ve encountered; they are genuinely welcoming and clearly take pride in the space they’ve created.
