Headed to Notions in Hickory? You totally should! Their brunch is seriously . Those liver mush sliders? Don’t knock ’em ’til you try ’em! And the bananas foster French toast? Sweet heaven! The avocado toast is on point too. Plus, their Bloody Marys pack a punch and who can say no to bottomless mimosas?
The vibe is chill, and they’ve got good seating. Oh, and it is ♿ handicap accessible with its ️ parking, seating and restrooms, which is awesome!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here tonight. It was only my second time to visit and a first for my husband. I enjoyed the appetizer that was on special tonight — Bang Bang Shrimp. The portion was a good size, the shrimp were large and the taste was delicious. I also liked my entree which was blackened chicken over smashed potatoes with crispy fried Brussels sprouts. We will definitely look forward to coming back!

The food we had was very good. Cajun pasta and chicken and the filet mignon. The inside area is a bit crowded and with all the conversations a bit noisy, it has a nice bar and eclectic feel. They have great outdoor seating if the weather is good and are dog friendly outside.

I was visiting from out of state, and the group I was with was looking for a restaurant that offered healthier options along with plenty of variety. Notions exceeded our expectations. We each ordered a different handheld item with a side, and everything looked impressive and tasted just as good. If I’d been a bit hungrier, I definitely would’ve tried an appetizer. I’m confident I could visit half a dozen times and order something different on each visit!

The shabby chic decor is really lovely. I had The Burger, which was a double smash burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, and I had mayo, mustard, and ranch requested on the side. Soft bun, great taste. I chose fries as a side. They were crinkle cut and crispy with a delicate seasoning I can’t quite place. Also very good. I drink a lot of tea and refills came promptly. I have absolutely no complaints.

Cienne, our server, was like a ninja & Chuck the manager is awesome! We were on our way home after a day of traveling to Appalachian State to visit our son. We decided to divert from our GPS home to Hickory. We popped into Notions for a bite. The restaurant has a very welcoming layout. To avoid the wait, we took seats at the bar overlooking the chefs and cooks. You get a first hand view of what it’s like to make food. The chef/cooks were working so hard to knock out orders. Good on them! They hustle! We made a mistake with our order & they took care of us. I can see they take pride in making customers happy! My husband and “partner in eating” like to order many dishes and try everything. I took some pics & videos.

It was a 2-star morning. Notions has quality food, we typically have a good experience. This morning was trash though. Quality customer service and basic logic are lacking from today’s staff.
We waited in the car and arrived in the parking lot nine minutes before they opened. They opened the doors early allowing “friends” in. When we walked in, the host/manager said, ‘Oh, we’re not really open; we just let some people in.’ Then, when asked if we could sit at a table, we were sent upstairs to sit at the other bar. Why couldn’t we be seated at a table when literally we’re looking at an empty dining room?
Don’t open if you’re not open. If those 6 or 7 minutes till 10 are so important, don’t open until 10. It’s easy basic logic.
Now I’m in a different restaurant, spending my money.

Came here for the first time tonight and had a great meal from start to finish. Very clean space and relaxing atmosphere- great date night spot and will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

By far THE BEST meal I have had in my life! Very friendly waitstaff and the owner is just so incredibly welcoming and personable. When you’re trying to decide where to go for date night please eat at Notions, support local business owners and buckle up for the best meal you’ve ever had.
