Tasty Tiny Thai – such a hidden gem in Birkenhead! Right across from the water, perfect for sunset views.

The Andaman soft crab was crispy outside, tender inside with creamy yellow curry. King prawn cups were crunchy and fresh. That beef soup pot hit the spot on a chilly evening too.

Good vibes, good food, and that view. Will be back!

Loved this Thai restaurant! The tom yum soup was perfectly spicy and sour, and the mango sticky rice was a sweet, creamy dream. Cozy vibe, great value. Will definitely come back!!

Can see why this place has good ratings, everything tasted good and meal was very filling – great view too!

It was very quiet for an early dinner, but the food delivered

The duck curry and the pad see ew were both well presented with a balance of ingredients

We had a Zumba Christmas Dinner in December. Food was delicious, the atmosphere buzzing, service was great considering we had a very large group – 2 tables to be exact. I would highly recommend visiting this place.

We received great service, the food was very tasty, it was a nice relaxing atmosphere for a group and they have couples tables allocated next to the view.

I visited this Thai restaurant yesterday, and I was really impressed! The ambiance was lovely, with beautiful decor and some fresh flowers adding a nice touch. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. What really stood out was the exceptional service. The waitress was incredibly friendly, always smiling, and took the time to introduce the menu with such enthusiasm. It made our experience so much more enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend their iced drinks, especially the Thai milk tea – it’s absolutely amazing!

Food
Chicken: Completely missed the mark. It was dry, almost comically so, as if it had been sitting out for far too long. Instead of juicy protein, it felt like chewing old leftovers.

Soup/Broth: Flat and uninspiring. Rather than a rich, aromatic Thai broth, it tasted more like instant noodles (Indomie vibes), lacking the complexity of lemongrass, galangal, and spice that makes Thai soups stand out.

Authenticity: Nowhere close. It didn’t taste like proper Thai cooking, more like a shortcut version dressed up as the real thing.

Service & Atmosphere
Staff were fine, and the space itself was enjoyable, which saved the experience from being a total loss.

A disappointing meal, overrated restaurant: dry chicken, instant-noodle-level broth, and nothing authentically Thai about it. The only saving grace was the view and the sitting environment. Food-wise, it falls under average, and it’s hard to recommend coming back.

I gave this place several chances and tried a few of their well-known dishes, but unfortunately the experience was consistently disappointing. The food felt heavily adapted to local tastes and lacked the depth, balance, and complexity I associate with authentic Thai cuisine.

Having eaten Thai food in Thailand, I found the flavors here quite different and not representative of traditional Thai cooking. For those familiar with or seeking a more authentic Thai food experience, this restaurant may not meet expectations.

I personally won’t be returning.

My partner and I are on a mission to try every Thai spot in Birkenhead having moved into the neighbourhood a little more than a year ago. We’re disappointed it took us this long to try this place.

Hands down one of the best Thai basil fried rices I’ve had in Auckland. I asked for hot and they made sure I got it. The mango chicken curry was also great! Service was friendly and prompt. Extra kudos for the side of chopped chillies knowing how hot I like my food. We will be back!

The taste was fairly average. The tom yum soup was on the sour side, and the curry tasted rather salty.
