We had to wait quite a while for our two pizzas and my chicken parm sub – not sure what was up with that, as there was barely anyone else in the restaurant on a Saturday night. No explanation for the wait was given. We ordered a meat lovers’ pizza, which had a thin & crispy, crackery crust with great flavor. The meats were thinly sliced and well-distributed all over the pizza. The sauce had a nice smooth tomato flavor. There was a nice blend and amount of cheeses and the meat eaters were able to fold the pizza in half to eat it, as you should be able to do with East Coast pizza. ☺️ The cheese pizza, the real test of a good pizzeria, was great – just the right amount of sauce, cheese, and seasoning on top. My chicken parm sub was delicious. The chicken was lightly breaded, the sub was perfectly toasted, and the sauce had great flavor. All the food was really good!
I knocked down a star for the service because it was really slow with no explanation, but all the staff was really nice. My husband, who likes to bake bread, had a great chat with one of the owners.
The atmosphere was so-so. The layout is somewhat odd, and we were in the back in what appeared to be a karaoke room.
We’ll definitely be back!
I’m so glad I heard about this new restaurant. I ordered an extra large pepperoni pizza and it was fantastic. Reminds me of the thin crust pizza I used to get in upstate New York. The crust was perfect for my taste and I loved the sauce seasoned with just the right amount of oregano. Pepperoni was great and the cheese is top notch too. I think the ratio of crust to toppings was just as I would make it myself. I had a few leftover slices which I reheated in a skillet on the stove the next day and it was delicious. I’m happy that North End Pizza Pub offers delivery now, this is my new favorite for pizza. I’m looking forward to trying their sandwiches and other menu choices!
Original review:
I was excited to see this new restaurant and try their pizza. The reviews are amazing and it looks like their pizza is really close to the thin crust style I loved when I was growing up in upstate New York. Unfortunately my first time experience was disappointing.
I saw that North End Pizza Pub now offers delivery with DoorDash, so I placed my order for one XL pepperoni pizza Saturday evening. The order was confirmed at 6:30 with delivery time expected at 7:20 to 7:40. The Door Dash driver arrived at the restaurant on time at 7:15 and she waited for 45 minutes. At 8:00 I texted the driver and asked if there was a problem at the restaurant. She replied that she was told the pizza would be ready in 10 minutes, then another 10 minutes. She had already been waiting for a half hour, now it was almost a full hour and still no pizza. Finally I texted the driver again and told her I was sorry that she waited for an hour and I canceled my order.
I understand that this is a relatively new restaurant and there are probably a few more kinks to straighten out, but I am disappointed that the restaurant accepted the delivery order and never let the driver know that they were really unable to complete the order before closing time at 8:00. Of course I was unhappy, but mostly I felt bad that the Door Dash driver wasted her time and lost money as she patiently waited at the restaurant.
I’m a small local business owner and our family always strives to provide our customers with the best service possible. Problems sometimes arise unexpectedly, but we always step up and make sure our clients are informed.
I am still determined to try North End’s pizza, and then I will update my review with an honest opinion about the pizza and the service.
Sincere wishes for your business success!
This is the hole in the wall we have all been looking for! Thanks Frank.
I will be back for more real soon!
The slices are thin but hold their shape when you pick them up. There is the perfect amount of sauce, cheese and grease. I decided to save a few slices for tomorrow because I didn’t want to finish it all in one sitting, it was just too good to not appreciate.
I fear I may have found my new favorite pizza place.
The owner is very friendly, him and I chatted a bit about his business coming here, his past endeavors and of course the pizza itself.
OH and I have to say the bread pudding does not disappoint!
If you are looking for more of a thin but very flavorful pizza then look no further. Stop in or order DoorDash to be delivered.
