One of the things I loved most is how unique the menu is. They serve a Mexican breakfast, which you honestly don’t see very often, especially done this well. I’m Hispanic so I’m always looking for those unique homemade flavors, we’re talking real, authentic flavors. It was so hard to choose but I ended up ordering the breakfast burrito, and it was absolutely wonderful. It came with sour cream, salsa, and a green salsa that had just the right amount of spice. It definitely had some heat, but that just made it even better. My husband ordered the meat lovers skillet and they came with a side of original pancakes which were really tasty. We also ordered the strawberry lechera pancakes on the side to share and wow she wasn’t kidding when she said they have the best pancakes! I definitely recommend trying those! I also got a iced caramel coffee which was really great as well. There was a little crack in the mug handle but luckily I noticed it and pointed it out to Hilda so that nobody would get hurt on it in the future.
The restaurant was full, almost every table taken, which tells you people know about this place! We may not live in the area, but we definitely won’t forget about it the next time we’re back in Rosemont.
I also loved the cozy vibe. The plants, the decorations, the overall atmosphere just felt warm and comfortable. Some elements are a little outdated, but honestly that just adds to the charm and history of the space, it’s been there for over 40 years! It feels like a place with stories in the walls.
The menu looks fantastic all around, and I especially appreciate their twist with the authentic Mexican breakfast offerings. That kind of cooking speaks for itself.
Thank you for the great service, Hilda! We’re already looking forward to our next visit.
What a lovely, most friendly and delicious experience today. We will be back, Hilda! It was so nice getting to know you. Prime example of what front of house and back of house should look like and beyond
Until, my son wouldn’t eat his eggs. I picked his plate up and there was a long, thick, black strand of hair.
I know it wasnt on purpose, but it ruined the rest of the breakfast.
I ordered their Andy’s stuffed toast and I paid extra $4 to have it as a combo meal, which included two eggs and two bacon or sausage links. The toast has a pleasant crispness to it in addition to being fluffy. Their handmade cream sauce is the filler in between the toasts. It smelled like citrus and was moderately sweet. A rich, sweet strawberry sauce covered the toast. Because of their tart flavor, the strawberries weren’t ripe.
As requested, the eggs were made in a scrambled style. The eggs were moist and airy when scrambled. Lucky, there was black pepper and salt on the table because the eggs were not seasoned. The bacon had a flavorful and fatty texture, although I would have preferred it to be more crispy. They executed a basic dish of bacon and eggs quite well.
I ordered their cookies and cream milkshake, which came in a glass mason jar to display the large Oreo cookie, crushed Oreos, and whipped cream. Although the look is quite tempting, which is why I initially ordered it, the taste was not up to par.
I dined here with a party of 7. I will say the service was exceptional. Our waiter Christian was attentive, friendly and helpful. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food either. I will say that the food quality is about a 3.5/5. Nothing quite stood out, but it was definitely edible. My only comment would be the “hashbrowns” AKA cubed potatoes were overcooked, needed more seasoning, and were a bit on the oily side. Best breakfast? For the cost, service, and atmosphere – maybe. Definitely a better choice than Denny’s or IHOP.
