We have so many sushi restaurants in Humboldt, I’ve become very particular. Nori beat all my expectations in taste and portion size. The presentation made me feel like I was fine dining, though the price is what I would consider normal for a local sushi. The wait staff was attentive, and very kind.

Nori sushi grill is my favorite sushi spot that I have found in the arcata area so far. I have been here a dozen times over the last year. They have a large menu of sake and wine options. Their food menu is filled with amazingly flavorful choices. I really enjoy the salmon skin salad and tempura calamari. They have many options for unagi (freshwater eel; my favorite). They can be busy on the weekends and evenings, but have usually been fairly quiet for lunch. The service is unmatched, I will keep coming back.

I made a reservation online but discovered upon arrival they don’t use that system. luckily they had a table for our party of 5 and we were seated right away. The food was amazing and the service was great. We had to wait a little while for our main entrees but it was to be expectected with us having a larger group of people. Love this place and I can’t wait to go back!

Went there recently for a birthday dinner. Been to Nori before and thoroughly enjoyed it however this time was disappointing. My Fiancé ordered the ramen and I ordered the sashimi platter. The ramen came out in 30 minutes. The sashimi platter came out a whopping 30 minutes AFTER the ramen. Ramen was mediocre. Sushi combo was good however it came out an hour after being ordered and 30 minutes after my fiancé’s main course to come out. Server was very pleasant and apologetic but did not offer to give any discount for the crazy wait. Probably won’t be going back.

AVOID! Can’t get over how bad the food and service were. We ordered a chicken Katsu, and it came out sliced. The room was poorly lit, and we started eating it, only to find out it was still pink and cold in the middle it was so raw. Myself and my partner got very sick after. The sushi was also terrible. The spicy tuna was a blended mystery meat that was gritty and overly fishy. It also took over 30 minutes to have our order taken. In all took over an hour to get our food, and it wasn’t even that busy. Absolute worst dining experience I’ve had in many years.

Been in town for work and after 2 failed attempts at other Sushi places in Arcata I finally found a good one. This place is hidden in a back alley FYI. The staff was great the Sushi was amazing I can’t wait to go back.

The only thing worse than the food was the service. Ordered take out for Mother’s Day, it took them an hour longer than they said it would and when the food was finally ready they told us they were out of some of the items we ordered but refused to give us our cash back, they said they could only do store credit and the manager “Lucky” refused to speak with us about it, instead made his wait staff do it. The food was mids at best and over priced for what it is. We’ll be sticking to Tomo or Sushi Spot from now on, if I could give Nori less than 1 star I would.
