Beautiful Venue and Amazing Food, But Disappointing Welcome
This restaurant definitely had the potential to be a five-star experience. The food, service from the wait staff, and the stunning views were absolutely amazing. The atmosphere truly makes you feel like you’ve been transported to Greece — very Santorini-inspired and beautiful.
Unfortunately, our experience was let down at the very beginning. The two young blonde girls who welcomed us were quite rude when we asked about wheelchair access. Their attitude made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, which was really disappointing and unexpected from a venue of this standard.
Aside from that initial interaction, everything else was fantastic. With better customer service at the front of house, this would easily be a five-star destination.
The standout dishes of the night were definitely the lobster mornay it was rich, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious, and of course the view of Darling Harbour which really elevates the whole experince. A lovely spot for a special night out, with solid food and service to match. Would happily return.
The menu had a little bit of something for everyone including a free flow package.
We opted for a later booking so that we wouldn’t be sitting around for hours waiting for the FireWorks Display
It began very slow it took a good 20min before Lauren came to take drinks & food order.
From that point everything just flowed nicely.
Some hits & misses on the meal but overall a good night.
Our waiter was tasked with serving multiple large groups, including our party of eight, as well as others consisting of five and six diners. Unfortunately, our order, which included three pasta dishes, took over 50 minutes to arrive. Meanwhile, surrounding tables had already received their meals and departed, while smaller groups of two and four were served in a timely manner. The waiter and manager informed us that the delay was due to the kitchen being busy with the pasta dishes.
This experience was disappointing, especially given the strong recommendations we had received from locals and friends. While the food was served hot, the flavors were rather subdued.
The staff were friendly, and the restaurant was clean and well presented. Pricing is on the higher end, which is expected given the location. I’ve rated it one star lower as the fish was slightly overcooked, and due to how busy it was, it could be difficult at times to get the attention of wait staff.
Overall, it’s a must-try seafood restaurant when visiting Sydney’s CBD.
Had:-
– grilled snapper which was delicious
– prawns which was slightly small on serving size
– chips good
– cappuccino, nice if not bit milky
– mountain crunch ok but not as good as it sounds – ice cream the best part. Macaroon bit stale and desert wasn’t rich and just sitting on a digestive biscuit
Slightly more on the expensive side but ticket the high end dining box and worth it!
Well known as providing seafood as a staple base, highly rated over the years for its amazing location on the boardwalk
No waiting on a Thursday night- seated quickly and orders taken
Drinks were prompt and entrees delivered – good starters and well rated, the mains arrived shortly after, the barramundi was not quite a great selection and was rather under cooked – the flathead was very good.
The seafood platter was rather underwhelming- the volume of chips and the amount of battered items was most of the platter- fresh not provided – if not for the side salad the platter was heavy and rather lifeless
The other selections were highly priced and even the selections we had chosen were quite expensive.
It’s worth a second visit to explore further.
Not my favourite location. I would suggest you ensure your well versed with the pricing and menu options
And I have to mention this… the waiter was super friendly and very handsome!
Great service, great food — highly recommend!
But what truly sets this place apart is the wait staff. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm, without ever being overbearing. They were knowledgeable about the menu, happy to make recommendations, and made us feel so welcome the entire time. That kind of service is rare and makes such a difference.
Perfect spot for a special night out or a relaxed meal where you know you’ll be well looked after. We’ll definitely be back, highly recommend!
