Had the Paris tasting. Everything was excellent. Team was nice and sharp, on their game. Meal was great, we kept the lamb dish instead of upgrading to the duck. We were plenty full. Table next to us upgraded and looked like they were full before the dessert round.

We came here recently for the Paris 1906 Escoffier menu. The food was really good and very classically French but with lots of technique not typical seen today – very much on point with the theme. It was quite heavy overall though to be expected with an old school French menu. The service is really great here, the staff keeps things light and fun. Lots of drink options including non-alcoholic pairings. Would love to come back to try again during a different concept.

One of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. I had some of the best food I’ve had in my life here. The presentation and the creativity with the flavors of the food was unbeatable. I would come here every year just to see the new menu items. It was such an incredible experience. The non alcoholic beverage pairing was well worth it to me. It was just as creative as the food. Highly HIGHLY recommend the splurge!

Came here for the Paris 1906 menu and the food was a mixed bag. Some courses were very good (my favorite was the halibut), but everything was generally a bit too salty. Unfortunately, one member of the staff was continuously coughing throughout the evening — at one point, they even needed to leave our table as they were going through the wine menu to go cough. I get that people get sick, but it’s almost as if we didn’t just have a global pandemic that might have taught us some ways to mitigate infecting others (like… a mask.) Seemed so unprofessional and honestly distracted from the fine dining experience.

The service and atmosphere is great and unbeatable. But for the food part, we tried the Paris 1906 menu; and the first couple courses all have black truffle as the main flavor which is a little boring. The flavor is too rich/greasy, the salad at the end finally neutralize the richness of the food. maybe that it’s me that don’t understand traditional French cuisine, but this is my true feeling.

Came to celebrate my 40th birthday and as expected the food was incredible but the overall experience was a little lackluster. Servers were attentive and nice. I lived in the Bay Area for over 8 years and eaten at Michelin restaurants in SF, Lisbon, and San Sebastián and every time I celebrate a birthday they make it extra special with a parting gift of chocolate or a fun dessert. At Next, I got a printed menu like everyone at the table and it said “Happy Birthday” at the top and that was it. I expected more for such a special occasion as I flew across the country to eat here on my actual birthday with a friend. If you come here for a special occasion, don’t expect anything different from every other table in the room. At the French Laundry, they took me back to see the kitchen and I got a gourmet box of chocolates with a card. THAT was special.

Me and my husband enjoy coming here. The atmosphere was great from the moment we entered, till the end of our dinner. Excellent pairing of food and drinks. Thanks for your amazing hospitality.

I hope that this review doesn’t come across as rude as we definitely have great respect for the staff at Next and we had great customer service with everyone that assisted us during our meal. My reason for giving a low rating is because the food and beverages were quite bad for the price point and level of dining experience that Next is categorized to have. We were looking for a molecular gastronomy style restaurant, similar to Moto that was on Fulton Market back in 2015. Although the presentation was beautiful and unique, the flavor and textures were very disappointing. It seemed many dishes were over salted or over powered by truffle or fennel flavor. We also opted for the non-alcoholic pairing which started off wonderful with the faux Prosecco but then immediately declined with the remaining drinks. All of the remaining beverages appeared to be just cold pressed juices with ginger, beets and fruits. There wasn’t anything that resembled a cocktail whatsoever. The simple addition of sparkling water or alcohol free spirits would have made the drinks into cocktails. Going back to the food, we also weren’t told how many courses we were going to have or that were left so we were hesitant on how much to eat so that we didn’t get full enough to not try the remaining dishes. We really wanted to like this place but it had quite a few shortcomings with the main part of the dining experience, which was the food. Hopefully I was able to communicate the issues we experienced without coming off rude and I will apologize for not saying any of this to the staff while we were there but it didn’t feel like an appropriate time to give such a detailed response on our experience. Also, I don’t like to make these types of comments while in a restaurant because it can sometimes appear like I’m trying to get a free meal and not that’s the end result I’m looking for. I just hope this was a constructive response and can help in some way.

Wanted to love Next as we have been to this owners other restaurants. And have been to several Michelin starred restaurants with tasting menus. We went for the taste of Tuscany . While a some of the courses were excellent the ravioli perfectly made and cooked (all of our favorite course)and the pork porchetta thou a little sweet was excellent and the desert, lovely gelato and the zuccotto was perfect. But several courses were not. The poached red snapper wasn’t good the artichoke with it was uncooked and the fish had no flavor.but the summer squash was terrible. No one at the table enjoyed it. It was uncooked squash with black truffle, terrible. There were beans served with the pork while the presentation was awesome the beans had a little flavor, and added very little, as did the eggplant it was hard and tasteless. The pappardella was under cooked and the sauce reminded me of chef Boyardee out of the can. Said it had wild boar but there was no favor of that. I too would have liked to have had a menu or run down of menu before eating as we had no idea how many courses were coming and I thought there was way to much food, even just tasting all but the very best we were all uncomfortably stuffed. Most of the staff were as expected, knowledgeable and personable. service was well timed , but some spoke in a patronizing script reading tired description of the food. But at the end of the meal they asked if anyone wanted coffee we ordered a coffee and a tea, the bill came for the wine which was ok not great for the price, (young wine) and wasn’t paired to enhance the food. But then no ever came back couldn’t get anyone’s attention no coffee or tea no thank you, just done with you. Very disappointing for this caliber of restaurant. Hope the staff reads this and improves as we need this kind of restaurant just need it to be a great experience.

My first experience was years ago when the theme was The Alps. That experience was truly one of a kind. Each dish was better than the one before. The staff was super friendly. It was, without a doubt, the best culinary experience of my life.
